We only have black bears around here. The only time you need to be worried is if you sneak up on them or if you get between a mother and cubs.

Big black bear was strolling through the neighbor's corn field a week ago. The bear went through my back yard and into the woods. It was big, neighbor saw it too, said at least 500 lbs.

We always use our fist for determining the size of a bear when checking baits. If it's pads are larger than your fist then it's worth hunting.

500 is a big Bear even here in Maine, before they stopped us from trapping them here in Maine I got 425  with an old bear trapper

There was a bear HALF that size in my birdfeeder yrs ago and IT was a big bear!

That`s the one my 9# yorkie Chubs chased into the corn stalks.

well let me know when he comes back i will come over and slow him down so chubs can finish him off and i can get a new rug
