Rick G.
Great looking mohsheens. Certainly better than the putrid looking over priced tripe any of the companies are producing today. I admit I’m old school stuck in the past. But that still don’t change the FACT that these current day tractors look stupid in comparison.
FarmallFan
The 2WD in the first post belongs to @IHC5488 I think I took that photo. It's at RPRU in Mansfield, OH in 2006.
utility 64
Here are photos from an April 2006 issue of Harvester HIGHLIGHTS magazine where you can see the release of the last Farmall 5488 tractor from the Rock Island factory on May 14, 1985 . Many readers of this forum know about this book with this article. I wanted to let you know that this latest tractor produced at the Rock Island plant is the same model we are talking about in this topic. There are other photos from internet on this last 5488 from the Rock Island factory ; but best not to be off topic is to post pictures of these 5488 tractors in the fields. One of the last photos of the 5488 imported to France by this collector of American IH tractors. One day I will come to see these tractors on their American soil. It's a childhood dream to discover IH brand enthusiasts like you. Thank you to all the members of the forum for being able to share my passion for these tractors through this extraordinary forum ? thanks again

Brian W
Here are some pics of mine. Always wanted one since I was a 10 years old when I first saw one at the dealer when my grandpa would take me back in 85. I have been looking for several years to find a decent one. Several have slipped through my fingers, and saw a lot of iffy ones too. Finally found this one from a fellow forum member, it checked most the boxes. It has the inline pump, big front axle, 42 inch rubber and rack of weights. It needed new interior and I replaced the front axle pivot pin and bushing. Later this year I will give it a new coat of paint. Brian

Gearclash
@INTERNATIONAL 1466 Do you know if my uncle (CJ) still has his 5488? It was a pretty nice unit the few times I saw it, always in the shed unfortunately. Not super polished up but nice looker in working clothes. MFWD. searcyfarms
those sure are purdy!!!! so being a novice on the 5488, what are the specs on them ? Engine? stock HP Trans? Inline pump vs?
searcyfarms
ah ha!!! found it, its got the beloved DT466 in it - whoa baby, at 12gph you can hear the fuel tank side pop in from the suction around 180HP it looks like at the pto same beloved trannie in my 5088 - including sentry - hmmmm i might call foul on the best tractor ever made ? i have no quams with my 88 but a lot of controversy around it and the trannie/rearend then add the sentry in the mix. if someone is cranking out 300hp i can only imagine the fuel cart in tow

utility 64
Here are photos with a link of this French collector who owns this IH 5488 tractor; tractor that I presented to you in this topic. It has other large models of American tractors. It seems to me that he owns an IH 915 combine harvester. Check out this link below to see more photos. https://www.farm-connexion.com/2018/10/28/une-collection-exceptionnelle-100-ih-americains/
ihrondiesel
I have three of them, two in work clothes and one that was repainted before I bought it. The loader on the second one is for sale, BTW, if anyone is looking for a good heavy duty loader.
