Does anyone know if there is a significant difference between the two friction disks pictured here?

Is one a revised version? When they came out with Hytran Ultraction it destroyed the linings on my 7120 brakes and had to be replaced and some additive put in. @SDman May remember the issue.

I do not- somehow just looking I think I’d rather have the solid one.

I think the grey one is the heavy duty one if I remember correctly. The holes help with heat dissapation and oil flow was my guess

Nice the bag says made in USA and the part says assembled in Mexico

I do not think that the grey and black disk came out of the bag that the brown disk is in, hence the discrepancy.

Perhaps Bitty will chime in on this.

Correct that one in the bag has no part number etched on it, grey one did have a part number directly on the part

Yes there is a significant difference if your using the brakes a lot (like operating in hilly country and/or lots of roading).  47392028 dissipates heat better and has better wear characteristics.

If I was replacing brakes on a Magnum, I would use the 47392028.
