Well I guess I better read entire thread before open my mouth. I seen j mech was  banned. I know he had terrible bed side manners, knew it all in his own mind maybe he did but no one knows it all.I know very little compared to most of the true mechanics on here and freely admitt it. His ego,bad manners, lack of respect for others, nastiness got him kicked off and as much as he was on here I will guarantee he will miss it more then he will ever admitt. He did it to himself.

Pride cometh before the fall.

He was an expert..........If you didn't know it, just ask him:lol::lol::lol:    I got the biggest laughs out of him.............Would rant and rave when someone wanted to conserve some money on a project they didn't plan on using much that they were cutting corners, then he has an elf 284 engine that he was putting band-aids on because he didn't want to go all in:rolleyes:   Then someone wanted for fix an M-TA to rake hay and he goes off that it was basically scrap and useless in todays world...............Next breath we are spending a billion in plunder and time fixing up a IH 4WD with a V8 that were ship wrecks when new to use it all spring.  Made absolutely no sense, I can see ranting and raving, but not practicing his own preaching was nothing but a huge joke to me.

I miss all those fellas that no longer post here for one reason or another.   They were the lifeblood of this forum when I joined.  It feels lonely here some days. Guys, we appreciate your input more than I can express!

Who was the member from I believe North Carolina that used to post masterfully done "homemade?" videos? Some that featured "Red Bibs Bill", and his 2+2.

Farmall 51 , I believe !

When I joined here July of 2007 , “Jere ,”was the first to respond to my post . I will always remember him and Gun Slinger !

Jere and OTB are on face book and  appear to be doing well . They comment a lot on the IH group there .

OTB always took pictures of Indiana plow days with Max Favorite ( old Max ) Smoker 1, Wilson Gatewood , Marty Thieme , Bob Zarse. All great guys I have had the privilege of meeting and associating with at RPRU’s . every one I have have met through here I would love to have as my next door nieghbor’s . Not to mention Danny Anderson and his wife Kathy who has become like a nephew to me !

I sure hope we don't keep loosing members. I have learned a boat load from the people here. It would be a shame for all of that knowledge to potentially be lost, or not passed on. Having it organized on a searchable forum has been a life saver for me and I'm sure countless others. I know I sure have enjoyed getting to see models that weren't common, or that didn't even exist in my area, and the pictures from all around the country and seeing how people in different places do things differently.

Sadly, there are fewer farmers and the ones that are left are getting older.  Also, it has been 36 years since the merger was consummated in 1985.  Assuming that you were buying equipment in 1985 as a 20 year old which most 20 year old farmers were not you would be 56 years old today.  Not exactly young.  For many today IH, Oliver, AC, etc. were somebody else's time and not their's.  It's human nature on a brand specific board to bust chops over certain topics but we have to be careful not to offend others when their views are reasonable.

I like most of y'all, there are times when we get bickering over stuff and some one is positive they are correct and they are not even in the same zip code, but people are that way. I really enjoy the pictures and all the ag related stuff. I really don't read most of the other stuff. After all I come here because I am an INTERNATIONAL enthusiast, owner and lover! I have met some really nice people because of this forum and continue to meet more. I have also learned tons here really appreciate the help when needed.

Keep the IH pictures coming, carry on y'all!

It’s comments like that that may be some of the reason why we re seeing a decline. I realize age and interest have a factor as well too. I really enjoy this forum and love to see all the pictures and hear everyone’s advice on how to make something better or to fix a problem or someone’s project. I’ve learned quite a bit in my time on here and quite frankly a lot of it has helped me. But in all honesty I don’t come here to discuss politics or listen to other peoples political views. Everyone has and is entitled to their opinion of course. But I hear enough politics on the TV or on the radio, so I like to come on here to kind of get away from that. When I start seeing politics spilling into a tractor based forum, the interest definitely drops. This is a great forum for all of us ih enthusiasts to gather and talk about our tractors and equipment. Let’s keep it that way.

l just checked and it shows l've been here for 10 years. @Tonyinca invited me to look things over here and l joined soon after.   There are two members that have passed on that l miss quite a bit.  Harold H and John A. Both posted quite a bit about growing cotton and everything that went with it. Harold H also did some custom IH toy building. John A also did  lot of cotton related posts and he was a IH LP tractor guru and knew a lot of history related to IH LP tractors.

Not unlike tractors/family/dogs/cows/horses/oil/work boots/crop failure and our health, the state of our union is part of all of our lives.

In years past, not so much as the present.

It isn`t surprising it crops up.

Ignore and move on.

It`s still the greatest website going.

I don`t pout if a topic doesn`t suit me because 20 great ones are right beside it.

Times they are a changing.

Navigate it.

I do agree with you on most of that. But in my opinion there is a time and a place to discuss politics and a website that is a platform for tractor enthusiasts is not the place. And most of them I do ignore but it’s just frustrating to see that when you come here to discuss or read what it’s geared towards. This is definitely the greatest website.  I was just giving my opinion on the topic of why we don’t see much from certain people anymore.

I agree with that, but the same issue has been hashed out over and over here since the original format changed, this side is a "Coffee Shop", you don't discuss just coffee in a coffee shop.............Other side is the IH forum, for exactly what you are looking for.

I can't blame the operators of this site for wanting to keep politics pretty well out of it.  It leads to fighting which is not in the operators' best interests.  Plenty of topics without politics to keep a coffee shop humming.

I'm not  sure if it was "talking" politics or not being allowed to that drove some folks away.

Good observation and probably a little of both.

Honestly theres a lot of oil threads, mechanical threads and plenty of other stuff people get huffy over in here besides just politics.

I'd like to talk tractor stuff but the General IH is pretty dead.

As lousy as it is, theres lots of stuff involving politics and policy that affects our lives no matter where we earn our living.  Just look at material  and labor shortages, that occurred due to policies and politics related to covid and/or inflation. Lots of topics discussed here coming down the pike carry big consequences.  Some of us do like discussing it because we have many years of skin left in the game, and will have to deal with it.

Theres some good people on here that are similar minded to me that I like conversing about these issues with.

I have had some major life obstacles in the last 4 years.   Unfortunate for me I have become a bit more intolerant of those without social skills.    I dont really have an axe to grind with any one person on RP.   Even tho there are basic ground rules set out by the owners, some people ignore those rules and post political or religious agenda anyway.   I used to take great joy in helping members with projects.

Major obstacles is putting it mildly.

Nice to hear from you though .
