Does anyone know what ever happened to Boog? He had some good equipment posts.

He still pops in. Probably sick of all the young blood bs like most of us.

I'm often telling my grandpa who will be 90 in July about something neat I learned on here. He doesn't really know what a forum is ... but he always says "I sure wish I had a bunch of IH buffs ready to help me whenever i needed it back in the day, would have saved me a lot of head scratching".  I think he makes a good point, this forum is a great resource.  As a young guy I've learned a lot and appreciate senior members taking the time to share their wealth of knowledge.

I saw the May-June magazine cover posted here in Coffee Shop yesterday - just about fell outta my chair, nothing special about an M, i know, but that one just happens to be owned by myself and my grandpa, i phoned him up this morning and needless to say he's pretty excited about it to. His dad bought an M brand new in '49 , unfortunately the original tractor was lost in a fire but the one we have now has some sentimental value to both of us all the same.

I'm always happy to get to know another Red Power nut , if anyone ever wants to swap stories , shoot me a PM.

I see Boog over on New Ag Talk quite a bit, mostly he is talking about newer stuff there.

I think all things change with time, some for the better, others not so much. I have been a member here since the early inception and it has changed over time. I find myself visiting here less and doing more in the Facebook groups, a lot of the old board members are there. It is not that the newer members here are any worse, its just you become friends with some and things sometimes move to different platforms for various reasons. I still try to visit here daily but do not participate as much I guess.

One big thing that I have noticed is there is more political discussions here and less ag related topics than there used to be. Some of that is the political climate we are in and less people directly involved in farming. I do not get involved in political discussions as I have have enough stress in my life and come here to reduce that stress not get worked up about things. When topics turn political, I stop reading.

I have made many friends across the country and Canada from this forum and am thankful for that. I have learned so much over the years here, about equipment, people and just life in general. This has always been a top notch forum with a great group of people, and still is. If I want correct information on something, I come here. Unfortunately some of the guys with vast knowledge do not visit here as much so I find myself reaching out to them one on one instead of posting here, just because they do not visit as often. There have been some members that have driven people away from this forum, but it has been that way since the start and is the same in most groups, they eventually get weeded out. BJ does a great job of policing things and keeping this board up and running and am grateful for his hard work and Dennis and sally allowing us to have this little piece of the internet. It is still the best place on the web,

I sure hope this forum stays viable. I gave up fb almost ten years ago and don't miss it. Don't trust them, won't use it.

This is an IH platform for IH enthusiasts, *by IH enthusiasts*. I trust the platform not to be shady for that reason. It's not like others that are one of several, all owned by a big data company.

Congrats to you & your grandfather getting your M on the front cover. That's quite the feat, imho.

Hi guys ?

I'm still around. Just the way life flows, I don't get as much time to surf around on here as I have in the past. Hopefully things will finally stabilize this summer!

I still check in once in awhile. I'm a lot like Smokers, a lot of the posters that were here when I first joined, think there were only about 15 of us back then, have either moved on or passed away. I lost a lot of my interest here when HD & chub passed away, we were very close. When I do get on here I feel like an old man sitting in the corner watching the youngest having a good time. Nothing against anyone here, just feel like things have passed me by.

Same for my old red tractors, lost interest in them. Some haven't been started for 3-3 years & have sold a couple off. I bought a Louisville SM off chub before he died. I'd like to restore it in his honor but just can't get motivated to start. Was hoping  my grandson would be interested in restoring it with my help but he's developed other interests as well.

Ive been lucky, no one in the family has had covid. I did have major rotator cuff surgery in 2017 or 18, knee replacement in Jan 2020, and a serious kidney infection last Nov that took a lot out me. At 70 I don't get over things as quickly as I once did. As my older brother says " getting old ain't for sissies"

I keep poking my nose in the door every so often to see how things are going here. Keep up the good work & everyone stay healthy.

I have had some major life obstacles in the last 4 years.   Unfortunate for me I have become a bit more intolerant of those without social skills.    I dont really have an axe to grind with any one person on RP.   Even tho there are basic ground rules set out by the owners, some people ignore those rules and post political or religious agenda anyway.   I used to take great joy in helping members with projects.

I never posted much to begin with, and with a new job, the farm, and the general "vibe" around here recently, I haven't been visiting the site as much lately.

I did get the chance to see a SW-6 with a T/A and live pto/hydraulics while visiting a neighbor the other day. He also had a 656 that was originally from Iowa sitting there as well

I’ve lost some interest since most of those from the beginning have walked away or passed on.  I made many lasting friendships from the early days. I still get on and read about once a week and will chime in if I think I can contribute. A lot of the newer guys are very knowledgeable and that leaves a gap for most of us old timers.
last year really threw me for a loop. Staying home and shows cancelled made for a long year. Lucky no COVID here. Then I screwed up my shoulder and am just about back to 75% after total replacement. Plus retirement sucks when the body don’t work right.

Getting the camper ready for some travels this year. Got a couple weekends planned with the kids and grandkids but the first big outing will be RPRU. Looking forward to getting together with the old gang. Hoping to have one of my muscle tractors at Rantoul, Lord willing!!

Hoping to see you and your lovely wife in De Quoin, Stay healthy ! That new Dodge and RV need to make a trip to Central Calif. Want to introduce you to all the Rednecks I hang with , Couple of them are older then we are and still playing with tractors.

Must be Old Timer's Day today.  I get on here about every day,  seldom miss a day.  I don't post as often,  mostly when I can share new info.

Sure nice seeing lots of old frequent posters drop in and say HI.

I made it to FARMALL LAND middle of last September before they closed.  I want to get to Jerry Kuster's museum soon in Galva Illinois too.  I grew up only 20 miles away from Galva but other than going to the scrap yard with Dad to get steel for a big welding project we never went there.  Jerry's the ONLY other person I know with a Continental post hole digger like Dad had, And a Caswell loader too, Dad had one of them too.  Plus he's got more First off the line FARMALL'S than anyone.  I'm not a huge fan of anything built the "first of", I always believed repetition led to perfection.  Got some other road trips planned,  and some of the trips Wife & I have taked I'd like to go again.

Who was the member from I believe North Carolina that used to post masterfully done "homemade?" videos? Some that featured "Red Bibs Bill", and his 2+2.

He is an ass but is very knowledgeable.

I miss Attila as well. Anyone know about him?

Thx-Ace

Yea I was wondering about J-Mech.I hope he didn't get kicked off. He fired a few shots across my bow  once or twice but all is fair in love or war. I just kicked back, nicely though.I kinda like reading and learning from him and all the rest. One thing for all us to remember we all are differant.

Roger was a special person indeed. Wife & I drove to Clinton once & spent a couple days visiting. We had plans to meet up again but he passed away before we could make it happen. I know going to that RPUP was special to him. I had tried to talk him out of going due to his poor health but I think he'll could have froze over & he still would have went.

Well I guess I better read entire thread before open my mouth. I seen j mech was  banned. I know he had terrible bed side manners, knew it all in his own mind maybe he did but no one knows it all.I know very little compared to most of the true mechanics on here and freely admitt it. His ego,bad manners, lack of respect for others, nastiness got him kicked off and as much as he was on here I will guarantee he will miss it more then he will ever admitt. He did it to himself.

Pride cometh before the fall.
