Mish5288
On my 5288, the spacer is loose and the exhaust leaks like crazy. I bought a new spacer, but it's too short. What it wrong? Turbo, spacer, muffler eliminator?

TP from Central PA
Eliminator on mine gets up close to the turbo, sure looks like that one is eat up on the inlet end in the picture.
ksfarmdude
Looks like your turbo housing is shot , You'll never get that to seal completely
Mish5288
My spacer looks like it was part of the turbo and broke off. Did they make turbos with extensions that didn't require the spacer?
Gearclash
Looks like the outlet flange broke off the turbine housing.

Not sure on that, don't think their was much on there to begin with but it does look like it is eat up too. I was trying to jog my memory. Will have to look at mine tomorrow and take a picture. Mike56073
A few things...... First, your turbine housing is broke, you need a new turbo. Second, I might be wrong, but that new spacer looks like the wrong one. The ones in my 5288 and 5488 are twice as long as that one and dont have grooves in them, just shoulders for the seals to go against. Google 1252474C2, thats what you should have. You should be able to reuse the spacer once you get it out and remove the turbine house end. It that were mine I'd get a new eliminator too, judging from what the end looks like.
Red666
I went to a machine shop and had one made the right length. Cost less than buying one andworks good.
tractorholic
Wasnt there any seal ring in there? You dont show any in the pictures.
Mish5288
No seals are left on mine. The new spacer has sealing rings that look like piston rings, so I think I have the wrong spacer.

hippy5488
as stated earlier spacer part no. is 1252474c2. the seal part no. is 1252473c1. but looks like you need a new exhaust housing on your turbo to get a good seal.
INTERNATIONAL 1466
The new you have is a 66 series, the 86 and 88 ones are longer and have no sealing rings.
88seriesrestorer
U have the wrong spacer that is for the 66 series. You will reuse your sleeve and i have the new seals for the ends. The 50 series used a metal mesh type seal Mike
