Hey everyone, I have an IH 574 which has been losing coolant. The oil level is fine no issue. Recently I noticed coolant leaking from the starter mount where it bolts to the engine. Just trying to understand how its making it way there and if it needs a head gasket job or more. Still seems to run fine. Thanks

Hi you will have to do some detective work to determine where the coolant leak is coming from on the rear left side of the block,
you may have to remove the hood and possibly the battery box and firewall to view the rear of the engine.
Possibilities: head gasket, frost plugs, brass sleeve that go in the injector holes, block drain but it usually run down the side of the block.
See photos below from Caseih.com Model is D-239, see items red circled are frost plugs.

Jim, I'm pretty sure #6 is a plug for the back of the camshaft.

Coolant leak about has to be on the outside back of the head and running down.  A little bit of washing and looking should reveal it.
