Boys best friend, such a blessing

Recommended Posts

My 11 year old who has cerebral palsy is always grumpy towards night time, he never wants hugs or snuggle time once he decides to go to sleep. Normall he dose not like the dogs we get, in fact we went through 4 dogs that we got rid of because he didn't like the,. We just bought a new dog, half German sheperd amd half great pyrenees and these 2 just clicked right away, even snuggling for night time. He has been smiling more and being way more happy since we got it. This dog was a Godsend for him.20210328_210709.thumb.jpg.d6bf3c6073b33e318f8eeb796a843c7c.jpg20210328_205753.thumb.jpg.450e0b9a44f7733578b1a8668de069b5.jpg20210327_120929.thumb.jpg.4d255cfe7262014583a86e9d457d211e.jpg

A good calm attentive pet can do wonders for people with disabilities and the rest of us too!  My Grandson has an Australian Shepard that it totally tuned in to him.

He cannot talk so for him it's hard to get along with a dog, if a dog locks or plays to hard he can't say stop or no. So with most dogs he just learns to not like them because they play with him in a way that bothers him, but this dog is way more calm with him and likes to snuggle. Also this dog's fur feels just like his favorite blanket so that helps. They just clicked right away. He also sleeps alot and almost every time he dose there the dog will be

YAY thats great news, sounds like they are going to make a great pair, the best thing i ever taught a dog ( and horse ) was when I raise my open hand it mean stop what you are doing ( you are invading my space ) you dad might have to teach the dog what an open hand means - they catch on quick, tap on the nose, pushing them back until htey stay, just make sure you do not use verbal commands - make them learn the hand means NO - one of the best things you can teach a dog/horse.

if your son can raise an open hand he will feel in control of an uncomfortable situation - my exposure to GP and GS is they are protective and smart, you wont have trouble with getting them to learn - so excited for you and your son
