Welding a shovel

Could you take a new flat front shovel and cut it down with a death wheel on a grinder?  I’ve done that before without taking the temper out of the shovel.

Go ahead and pick up that 175c from Buddy and you'll be able to move it.

That's how I made  the one I have, but out of a regular pointed shovel. That was about 25 years ago before trench shovels were  a thing.
