cm228
Dad is working on fixing up an old LA engine. What color or colors should it be? Gray, red, mix of both? Thanks Matt

Mogulman
The decision to change to red occurred in May of 1939. Your engine would be grey with a red flywheel and belt pulley. The grey colour would be the same dark grey of the McCormick tractors. The red is the same familiar IHC 2150 red.

Mogulman
1935 LAA in the original colours...I suspect the cart wheels may not have been red.
frank.nl
are the LA engines always delivered in gray or later red, or are they also sold in green? or was my engine painted over later by a creative person? can't find another color under the green paint

Mogulman
Just picked up this original 1938 LAB. Grey...they carried the grey on for this a bit longer than the tractors. I thought at first the air-cleaner was a later addition. After studying it, I think it was there from new. Lots of questions on this one, but no doubt that it is 1938 and grey.
