Steve,

Any updates on your fix? Everything work out good?

I need to do mine on the 982,  looking like I'm going to need to cut mine out too.

What a PIA design!

Biggest issue is going ro get things lined up right for welding  as my template to start with isn't correct.  It won't lift 450 blower correctly as my welding fix last year wasn't right, didn't get the tow lift arms welded in right spots. Duh!

Ok, this is a PIA place to work!  Glade I had a really long blade for Sawzall!

Thinking of updating the assembly so the shaft slide into a sleeve all the way through?  It would be stronger like your Steve?

Pretty sure it will be easier to line things up for final welding too?  Bushings in frame aren't in bad shape, will be able to reuse them.

Figure I could install it and put in a temp set screw through the sleeve maybe to get the lift tabs set at right position before drilling holes for setting them in final position?

I couldn't imagine having to this on a narrow frame!
