I recently purchased this truck. My goal is to remove the tanker and use the truck to pull my equipment trailers. I will add a gooseneck and pintle hitch. I'd also like to have trailer air brake supply.

Nice looking truck. You should be able to add a trailer supply valve to the air system but will take some plumbing.

I'll look into that more. I want to move the air tank on the passenger side under the side step, so it will be a good time to tackle the trailer supply at that time.

When you change the oil, I would use a bore scope to look inside the pan to see if there’s much sludge. Fire trucks sit idle for long periods of time and then get hammered on for a few hours, then back to sitting. All that sitting let’s the contaminates settle out into the pan. My 28 had about 1-1 1/2” of sludge and the oil looked like brand new.

That truck is in good shape!  You may have the cleanest s1900 in all the land!

How is the gearing?  I have almost the identical drive train in my truck.  IH tended to them fairly low usually.
