Here’s the only thing that gets used in my saws. Great shelf life .  It originally came out in round cans but is now in square ones so if you find it somewhere in a round can it’s probably at least two or three years old.

That’s new, the square cans anyways. I have only seen round cans up to this year.  Thanks for the tip

We use the gallons of motomix at work for seasonal stuff like snowblowers . We pull the gas out with an extractor, then run it dry and pour in just enough motomix to be able to move it in and out of the storage area. Also, water pumps, generators and pressure washers that we know aren't going to get used much for a while. Using it that way makes it go a lot farther, but still saves your carb.

Ok ,   When you said 250 I was hoping you had an RL .  They only made them for two years.  I have seven of them .

ok i will do eeeny meeeeny on the 9 different flavors before i order something,  and yes its a walbro in it now - fuel line looks good, fuel filter clean, vent line looks good too, i noticed the rubber boot thing on the cylinder where carb bolts have to get my better readers out to investigate it and lots of light - my old eyeballs are crappy - more to come..........

I have had good luck with the aftermarket carbs from Amazon.  Get the carb model number and search for that number.  Just got one last weekend for a weed wip.  Ordered Saturday was delivered 24 hours later on a Sunday $9 free delivery.  ( carb, new fuel lines and a primer bulb)   Had to adjust the H jet a 1/8 Turn starts and runs perfect.

If you have any doubts on the rubber intake boot investigate thoroughly as air leaks anywhere after the carb on a twostroke lean out the mixture and can cause scored pistons.  you may want to do a pressure check on saw to know for sure.

let me run this thing thru the ultrasonic and see what happens i think i can get a gasket to try in it and see what happens from there - gotta check the rubber thing they are talking about i didnt realize it was replaceable it looked made into the cylinder area.

Did you ever get this saw going?  Here is a pic of the one I bought and fixed up. Had a bad carb, bad crank seals, bad chain tensioner, bad boot, and a mismatched bar/chain/sprocket

Sounds like “my grandfather’s axe” “I’ve changed the head twice and the handle three times”

I just got a 028 given to me seems to run great it fits in the stable with the 056av 036 pro 211 and 251 and 461 I have. We are fortunate that right over the line in NH there’s a gas station that still sells 91 non ethanol gas so I buy that for all the lawnmowers and saws and my old tractors. I didn’t need the 028 but I came with two junk throwaway saw and a 51 husky I haven’t got the 51 running yet
