That 310 is a fairly valuable engine if it runs well. I don't believe it would be real easy to swap in, in place of a 282. A great engine, but it might be easier to sell it and buy another 282 or 301. It might not be too bad if you could find the correct rear plate off a late 310 powered 706. That would probably be easiest, the next obstacle would be having the over center clutch or flywheel possibly having to be reworked to fit on the 310. I believe that 310 is longer than a 282, so hopefully there is enough room between the fan and front of the engine to clear the radiator. Maybe you would have to extend the rails, and move the nose out a big and extend the hood. It would sure be a lot better runner with a 310.
