All dualed up, and nowhere to go!

Recommended Posts

Well, I think the saying is, good things come to those who wait.  Well I waited, and finally ran into a very nice pair of 18.4-38 Firestone field and road duals for #20 1456.  So today I put the duals on for some pictures.  Now when I can get it to some shows, it will look complete!! Even found a set of oem original paint battery covers!! 7F37A071-06D4-491C-A3DA-50217B76569A.thumb.jpeg.c98d74a71c4062374d7afdc989134af9.jpeg924E7AC9-F20F-4814-9F6B-B82E502A98E3.thumb.jpeg.45d9713d3ca376fe2517845315b0adec.jpeg39AC0A97-D69F-42DF-A1D6-63AB71C4D83D.thumb.jpeg.9f51b312e8c6267f6d12ace87e9f5f62.jpeg1E4CF646-5AC4-4BF1-BFE7-AFB1855AF06E.thumb.jpeg.4f637497aa450d26c949f6458c9867eb.jpeg8EDDC55F-1ABF-4319-B23C-4EA9C7741E28.thumb.jpeg.df8739804b78c0aa527707fee2f9cab9.jpeg6820BD19-38AA-40EE-A046-F3D1076B65DD.thumb.jpeg.d28d09022030e6d29a08467d99301e8e.jpeg

I tried a few times this year to get a few different sets from Steffes, but to high for my taste.

Very Tuff!

Know of a barn find just like yours.

Waiting for the moment, even if we don't need a big red horse

It doesn’t matter if you need it or not, grab that thing up when time comes!!!👍🏻👍🏻

1456 with duals, weights and quick hitch......just doesnt seem right.

Those med off set duals sure do set in close on 100" axles but they look good. I dualed up my 1206 and hooked to 496 disc. Made a few rounds and pulled out. Too wet and pulled too hard.

I had to move the hubs out more before I could put the duals on.  The duals are mainly to complete it for shows, usually never have time to play with it in the field.

Blaine, looks great.    If you need somewhere to go, bring it down.   We can hook it to a chisel or better yet an onland plow

Are you sure you have enough room for another 1456? 🤣👍🏻

Those tire treads line right up like that.......or did you spin the wheels one hole one way or the other until they looked that good?  Nice.

I tried a few different holes, couldn’t get them to line up perfectly, they are about a half lug apart on both sides.

It might have to go to Texas? There’s a guy down there that will make it look right! 😬😬

Looks good like it is. Getting to the point where seeing an original 1456 with 6 bolt hubs is few and far between. The % of 1456s with factory 6 bolt hubs is higher than most realize. In IH advertizing majority had 6 bolt hubs. Cabed, gold demos, didnt matter the amount of options but still had 6 bolt hubs. My 1456 that ran into the tree was optioned out and still had 6 bolt hubs. Im guilty of swapping them out for 8 bolt but think im gonna leave atleast one 6 bolt.

I do agree, it looks odd with 6 bolt hubs, but I’m not taking away its originality.  The short arms were welded to the spindles before my dad bought it, but you can’t find the original rounded short arms anymore, so it looks bad, but I’m leaving those on it as well!
