IH 1256 S/N 13135

Long Farms

Did I miss something.....all that work to free up the wide front and then....all the sudden a narrow?

BTW, I made a "wrench" out of 1" plate with heavy tabs to fit around the outer axle and drop a pin thru the holes.  Smacking the end on this wrench with a maul was the only was I got my 666 tube to finally start moving.  Even then it took a 20 ton jack and hitting it to rotate 1/4" one way, then 1/4" the other ALL THE WAY OUT......  And end the end the wrench broke.

I didn't beat those knees. This front axle came all apart in just min. Someone before me got nasty with it. Center pivot pin hole was too worn for new bushings. Had it machined and its sitting off to side for reassemble. Wanted NF 1256 pics too before i put WF back on.

Yes and no. Had a set of 38x14 rims powder coated and 15.5x38 tires mounted. It's easier if they are fixed to tractor to mount so i anchored them to a long axle tractor and havent had time or need to pull them off.

Thanks!  That entire situation did not look normal to me.

Only 1 here has fresh red paint. Rest of them are Patina Power. I would take a clean original IH to Red Power before i would take my restored 1456. I've got to where i rather see a clean original thats complete vs a mediocre restoration thats missing items.

The Long Farms RPRU is coming coming up soon, in 2056. As such, the ‘56 series tractors will be featured. Let’s see…. I’ll be 101 that summer. Can’t wait!

Better be there 56 annual show closer than in 2056.
