My summer project, just need to get a top cap and it will be done. Built the the bracket and assembly for cooking today and made 1st pizza on it tonight. The cement mixer post made think I should show mine and I pour the base for the pit with it, we used it on the farm when I was a kid (a lot ) and I still have. Of course it has an ih pulley on it, the cast aluminum one broke.

Very nice!  Two (2) of the three (3) cats certainly seem to be lounged out and enjoying the sun.

Yes loin is the yellow and scooter is the black and white,  males and the one on top is scotchy my female torture queen, she can catch anything and then tortures it to death.

Dear gosh, I married your cat! 🤣      JK, I'm blessed that my Wife has low standards and I'm able to meet them. She is a Queen!

That looks great!! I did something similar but used a rim from my buddies 1086 for the fire ring. I filled between the blocks and rim with crushed rock then topped the last few inches with some lava rock for a decorative look. I would like to add a cook stand like yours and a full size grate for doing large batches of sweetcorn. Thanks for sharing!!

Did you kill the cats before they could use the sand?

My project started out to look like yours and then it kind off snowballed. The slope was more than i thought it was.  Found a good deal on pavers off craigslist. Ended up doing a seating wall on one side and retaining wall/ flower beds on the downhill side. It went way over budget but we like how it turned out.

They might be planning on adding a roof I am not sure. The bench swings were mentioned as social distancing seating on their spacebook post

I’ve been told that fire-roasted rattlesnakes aren’t that bad.......

Not nearly as fancy as what some of you have done. But this is our new fire pit. My wife wanted a gas fire pit so I did this when replacing our deck. I love a wood fire but must admit we use this alot more because of the convenience.

When I had my 1840 I dug a nice pit in the tree row near the house.

Bought a dozen metal folding chairs from our church yard sale.

All the above pits are REALLY nice.

Mine ain't but as you know this Is western PA!   🤣

Nice work boyz.

I’m not showing my fire pit, I’ll get laughed off the forum!!! 🤣

I have a friend who has an old stump in his yard.  He sets chairs around it and has a fire in the center of it, calls it his red neck fire pit.  Works great, to bad it's only temporary but at least he'll get rid of the stump in his yard.

Everyone starts somewhere. This is what we had and what we have now. Just takes a few bucks and a lot of work. Scored a lot of used pavers for cheap to free off craigslist. FYI there are a couple diferent sized pavers out there so measure when you are stock piling for your project if you are cheap like me...lets just say i have enough extra to replace the busted up sidewalk around my house with pavers.
