billonthefarm 904
Dubuque County IA Fairgrouds to the tri State Farm stock shoot out. 13000 lbs. Finished 12 out of 31 very good running tractors. I ended up at 296.44’. If I could have squeaked out another 2.6 ft I would have finished 5th. 2.5 feet less and I would have been 16th. Winner went 304’. Heck of a good set of tractors. They paid out $2k to the top 16 places.

Missouri Mule 1,652
As always bill nice rig. I'm certain I've asked this question before but what kind of money does a guy have into a competitive farm class tractor? I realize one thing leads to the next and the next. There's a good farm class pull out here that lots of guys get into with 1066's. I notice alum fenders, steel wheelie bars, and a rops. Most guys are running inline pumps and stamped wheels. Beyond that I'm not sure what they do.

If your tolerance to lose is low, its going to be expensive. My tractor is about as cheap as you can do something that will get you in the hunt, you will not be a perpetual winner, but you will have a chance every hook. By far the most expensive thing was the tractor. I bought a good clutch with a steel flywheel. It has a t/a that will take big hp. It has a 13mm 100 pump. Still running a 3lm turbo. We built the weight brackets and side shields. We did all the mechanical right in my shop on the farm. We spent most of a winter cleaning it up for paint. I painted it in the barnlot on a weekend after I finished planting. All 4 tires are used. I could have spent many times more money. If you have the tractor already and can do your own work $10k will do what you need to do. You could even space it out and do it in steps. If you have specific questions let me know! That's as good of answer as I could of hoped for.
