now wis. mask mandate

Recommended Posts

I am forced to mask up when I enter the building at the tire recycler and get my temperature taken. As stated, it's mandatory. Funny thing, the other day my temperature was 93. And what gets me in my situation. It's about two steps to the window I need to get to so I can sign my paperwork and leave. I'm in the building longer to get my temperature taken than signing my paperwork. So that doesn't make sense to me at all. In my opinion they should let me mask up, sign my paperwork, and get out of there. But that's just me.

And just today we went to Wally World, not my favorite store but it's what we've got. Mask on to enter, mask off a few paces out the door. Instantly had a headache after putting it on and it went away pretty quickly after removing it. I feel for anyone that's forced to wear one all day. Glad I don't have to. And I to chuckle at the people wearing masks alone in the cars. I understand their thinking but it is comical.

THAT’S YOUR GOVERNOR!!????

I’ll trade you one Pennsylvania governor and a state health official of indeterminate gender that is uglier than the back end of that horse...

For you guys in Montana....why is your state under a mask order? You guys have fewer cases(less than half, actually) than we do in South Dakota. I would think it would be rather easy to social distance in your state.

Our governor has been busy showing the nation’s colors at rodeo events lately. This was at the Days of 76 rodeo in Deadwood. Earlier last month she did the same thing in Sioux Falls at the Sanford arena.

Yes she is. Just a few hours before this, she and our Congressional delegation were at a Welcome Home ceremony for a South Dakota National Guard unit that has been overseas since last September.

I hope this link works.

Who in their right mind would take that deal time to vote them out.

The Iron Lady of the Midwest!

She was invited to lead the parade Saturday at RPRU2020 but has a prior commitment.

Her campaign ads had her in  a John Deere. We didn't hold that against her,

I promised her a nice shiny IH to lead the parade in.

When she was running for election, she made a campaign stop here at one of the restaurants in town. She remembered her father buying a tractor from my old boss back in the early 1990s. She had to drive the tractor all the way from Highmore all the way back to her Dad's farm(around Castlewood IIRC?). Think it figured out to be roughly 150 miles or so. At 20/25mph, that would have been a fair drive for her. Think she was just out of high school, had maybe just started college. IIRC, she dropped out of college when her father was killed in a farm accident(grain bin??) in the early 1990s.

Its funny how many Americans want to trade their governor for ours....so far nobody has been able to come up with a good trade offer for some reason.

There were a lot of bikes in Deadwood and Sturgis already on Thursday when I was out there.

Been a steady diet of Harleys going by the store for two weeks or better. It'll last until Labor Day.

It should not be a mandate, just do it if you want that’s what freedom is for.

Maybe you should ask Ed Leaman how he feels about your kind of attitude towards masks.   He just recovered from covid, and from the sounds of it, had the person who he most likely got it from been wearing a mask, he probably wouldn't have gotten covid.

It's not about you or your inconvenience, but about respect for everyone else's health.

This is from the rodeo in Effie MN.   Now the attorney general is suing the rodeo owners.  They let people destroy Minneapolis but they sue someone for having a rodeo.   Makes sense right??🤪

Me or nobody else should have to suffer and wear a mask cause your scared to go outside without the rest of the world wearing them. If that’s how you feel then you stay home.  The majority should not have to live with the inconvenience so the few feel warm and fuzzy.

I live in rural western South Dakota, I cook a couple nights a week at the local cafe, and I worked tonight. Saw two people come in with masks to get their to go orders, knew immediately that they were from out of town..... I’m not sure if anyone from here even has one, much less wears it.

We spent several days out west recently, my favorite was the moron at the Custer Little Bighorn battlefield who was sitting in his Ford Mustang, with his windows down, with his mask on but pulled down to his chin so he could smoke a cigarette.  Yeah, you're saving the world buddy.   Also, we had a great time out where people are being 99% normal and I'm glad we spent recreational dollars there instead of on all the crap that is cancelled.  LOTS of people are doing the same.  Also, Kristi Noem is hotter than a go-kart muffler.

Ahhh yes, I’ve been waiting for someone to say words like this. Yes I know about Ed Leaman having it and about Randy Sohn’s passing with Covid-19. Yes it is sad them and their families have to suffer with this and our prayers are with them. This virus will be no different from another virus, people will get it and that’s just the reality. No human can stop a virus from spreading. Precautions can be made but it will still cycle through.

The virus is not about me, my convenience, or others who feel the same as I do. Having respect for others health means things like washing you hands before entering a nursing home, sneezing or coughing in you arm or away from others. You know, things that were common sense to do in public BEFORE Covid hit

If you continued reading my posts here you would find I said this is a real virus that should be taken seriously but things like wearing a mask in the same building (a restaurant or a store) where you take it on and off, is not effective. And as for respect? As in this situation respect is letting people know what’s going on and leave options open that make them feel comfortable instead of cramming mandates on them that will not help the situation at hand. How would you take it here on the forum if people were only allowed to post in the age range of 65 and up? That wouldn’t give any respect to others under 65 who have the same interests as the allowed members. If you want to stay home stay home. If you feel safe then go out. It doesn’t work as “one size fits all”

Here in Indiana we have a mandate, but at least where I am at, no one will stop you. They've got the signs out, but other than people freaking out, it's business as usual.

Yeah, I just ruined my 3 year run without going into Walmart.  Three visits now in 12 years

this year I was in Minnesota and looking for a cooler, after target and several stores I tried the Walmart in St Cloud MN, I did find what I want but had a heck of a experience

I have been in that Walmart once, and that was 1 too many times. The few extra miles to go to the store in Sartell is well worth it.

I dislike Walmart, but back in the good old days before covid panic porn, being able to get my shopping done at 1 am sure was nice.

My 21 year old daughter is in nursing school and works at a nursing home. She said the worst thing that was done to the residents was to shut off the visitors. Those poor 80 plus year old people all of the sudden cut off from all family contact. Worse than getting covid.

We've discussed that very thing a couple of times throughout this. Dad is glad that his mom is gone instead of dealing with her in the nursing home throughout this. ( there was no way we could care for her with everyone still working)

The longer this goes on, these types of problems are getting more and more prevalent.

What I'm really curious about is how all the social distancing will affect the country this fall. We constantly are trading weakened viruses to build our immune systems. With the reduce events and social distancing, extreme cleaning regimens and all I wonder if we will see increased impact from weakened immune systems.

We probably will but cause of death will still be COVID. My wife shoots me I’ll be a COVID victim, ran over by a bull = COVID, traffic accident= COVID. You get the picture.
