Head bolts for a D239

Recommended Posts

I got some from a guy that specialized in head bolts off Ebay.  The D179 and others in the family use standard grade 8 bolts on the head. They are in several lengths, some are the same as a 460 CI ford gasser pickup motor. 9/16 X ?? Just a matter of getting a length match up for the head bolts and hardened thick washers. The connector rod bolts are the strange and unique bolts,  most expensive bolts I ever purchased and directly from CIH. Fortunately I only required 6 bolts and nuts, looking back I expect the originals would have been fine.  After 10 years of running the head and rods are still in place.

Good luck with your project.
