believe he is saying the wear ring covers the crank mark...

replacement would be needed......surprised shop left it on there....?

ring should not be but .002 tight  with (correct tool)...bearing splitter in press behind gear and do both....carefully cut...dry ice...? heating...?  brass drift...    have a case of them setting here for cub, would need to be cut off,or pressed with gear, but they would not fully cover the marks.either...

I used an old knife and drove it between the gear and the what ever you call it and it started moving and it finally came off.  I want to thank everybody for the help and info.  Now it is getting it back together and running

Thanks

if your talking about removing the speedy sleeve ,.. you just hit it with a cold chisel across the surface and they slide off. for next time.
