Ive said on here before that humans aren't really that smart in the grand scheme of things. In reality on this planet we're supposedly the smartest species here. Its like being the smartest kid in a special ed room. You're top of the class, great. But you definitely aren't a Rhodes Scholar.

You can’t say Rhodes anymore!!

I meant that with my tongue firmly pressed  in my cheek, but left it in it’s own.

But look up “redress Rhodes “

All of which you speak leads up to this baloney.

Take common sense away.

Take religion away.

Take discipline away.

Make both parents have to work, and put grandparents away in homes.

Give timeouts instead of spankings

Give participation awards instead of being a winner or loser.

Don’t build self esteem but rather tell them it isn’t fair to be better than their peers.

Fail to teach right from wrong or explain the differences.

Call police officers racist.

Exploit “crisis’” for political gain

Ignore blatant injustice because it doesn’t push the narrative.

Fail to teach conservative values. Or worse, don’t allow conservatives to have a voice.

The only thing they know and have been taught comes from a teacher or a professor. Their parents were too busy furthering their own careers, to expand extra time with their children’s lives.

I could go on, but I respect most of you to see what the end result is...

When you blame one group of people, you look just as ignorant as the next group of people.

When you blame millennials. Or black people. Or democrats. Or republicans. You're lumping "human beings" into a group based on a prejudice you hold.

Just an observation. Your family member is an individual. And her actions are wholly her own.

It isn't millennial mentality or woman mentality or racial or political.

Ignorance is wholly owned by an individual....and spread by the silver tongue.

I agree but....Seth is right it is a huge majority of the Millenial gen and the Y gen coming in.  But its my gen fault IMHO.  X.  "Dont spank timmy, dont tell him thats wrong, that dang teacher is the problem at school, Timmy would NEVER do that, Timmy deserves this or that.." and so on.

You are a great exception and make it your self.  GOOD job to all you Milli gen guys.  If you work hard and try you have it made since such a big % dont seem to give a rip or want to put in the time to be sucessfull,

The statement, "Opportunity looks a lot like work" is not told loud enough.

She says that no one is hiring anywhere. I suggested that Ruger was hiring and it is in driving distance from where she lives. After I explained that ruger was an American manufacturing of firearms she went off on a tirade about the evils of guns and stated she would NEVER work for a gun company.

I said so you are willing  sit here on the lake in your bathing suit with your hand out taking money from people who WILL work for companies that are beneath you to work for, and you can’t even do them the courtesy of asking for your hand out before the deadline?

Her response was rude... and I walked away.

I realize I just made the cut to be a millennial myself, but I am embarrassed for my generation.

Also........... you ask her to go shooting this afternoon?  You know a bonding experience....build a bridge thing.  We call em ATF days.  Alcohol(like 2 beers), Tobacco, and firearms.... always a relaxing time.  Sometiiimmmees it changes perspectives.

Many moons and snows ago my friend from Scotland had a young lady stay with them from a church group from UK.  We had small group bible study that sunday and after did some target shooting out back.  The Look on her face when she shot her 1st round was priceless....WHEW!  Can I do more!!??... ;)

He sent many photos to her light weight socialist father in the UK!  She really like "key"....one of them short shot guns for home defense.  It would hit the target every time ;0

Amen, well said. When our first child was born we decided to try to have mom stay home. It might be hotdogs and beans but we were going to try. Raised 2 kids on my salary. Modest home, 1400 sq ft living area.  No second home on a lake, rented a condo on Lake Charlevoix for a week, no boat other than a $1000 day sailer. No camper or travel trailer. No hunting trips, no fishing trips, no FL trips  at spring break. We both agreed on every large purchase we made. Guess what, we made it. Neither of us regret it. Kids turned out great.

My daughters best friend growing up lived 2 doors up the street.  Mom just had to work, her and her sister came home to an empty hose every day. She was at our house almost every day. A number of years later her grandfather passed away. We hadn't seen Karie in a dozen years? We go to the visitation. She sees my wife and exclaims, my other mom and gives my wife a big hug. The look on her mothers face was one of shock.

Very admirable but Unfortunately it doesn't work for all of us.

My brother and I farm with our Dad. No health insurance provided by work. Obamacare screwed any type of affordable health insurance bought by us personally. My brother's wife is a teacher, mine's a nurse. The extra money they bring in is great, but the big one is health insurance. Big one. Before i got married in December I was paying over 600 a month for health insurance and it wasn't more than what was necessary if i got hurt. No dental, no eye. Higher deductibles and copays. Can't even imagine what id be paying for me, and my pregnant wife now.

I hear you there, as far as just wages go I’m sure I could find enough ground to rent to do just fine. But I’m by myself, and insurance and retirement are a big thing, so I stick with my day job and farm too...

It takes a bit of sacrifice to be a good parent. Just have to give up some of the things you may want to do so there is time to spend on or with your kids. You never know what is going to sink into one of young heads full of mush.

My youngest was in kinder garden, and a wacko lefty teacher.Back in 89 we needed to save the rain forest, we where burning, bulldozing, just destroying it she said. So I took time to get the old "World Book" out 😉,she said x thousands of acres a day destroyed. "The book" said xxx acres of rain forest. Well if her number was anything but made up we would of been out of rain forest last week.

He had come to me with this, 😵"guess what the teacher said" 😵 and concerned about the "story" she had been telling. The lesson took way better than I ever could of hoped. He questions everything and everybody. Has had way more education than he needed, but got screwed over by the system and never got his ag teaching certificate. But also decided he would not fit in that system without great compromise on his part anyway.

But raised 'on the ranch" they just went along and did things. Exposed to are way of seeing things much more as they are exposed to adult stuff much more than kids in town would be. Many other things may have seemed a bigger deal than incident used as example. And it is funny how this incident has come to both of us at least 15 years after it happened in the course of discussing "life" so to speak. It was not something we talked about for days on end or anything.

There is a lot of good posts here, and I feel the thoughts are the same, but if you have two parents who work, why are they working? To take care of their family, it isn’t the quantity of time you spend with your kids, it’s the quality, dad and mom come home from work, plays a little catch with jimmy, mom makes a dinner spends time with suzy, so here’s an hour or so then kids do kids stuff, then bed.

Now what do the kids get out of that hour or so? Face to face with mom and dad, two people working bringing up their kids the best way they can.

Compare that with the stay at home who is on Facebook, Twitter, et al, kids running around being ignored because they are to busy being cool. I don’t think there is much of a choice on who has the better situation.

No rant just an opinion.

Don't worry, the way our government has been operating this year. The gravy train from them is going to end and then the pain is truly going to begin and no amount of temper tantrums is going to change it. If the money the government is issuing is worthless you can hold a ton of it but it won't do squat for you. They'll have to buck up to survive or not but those who don't will have a very hard road to survive.

History shows the trend here.

Pre-WWII Germany.

The German people were paid twice a day and it took a wheel barrow to haul away the cash each time.

But it took a 1/2 days pay to buy a loaf of bread.

Does anyone see a trend here?

And the liberal Dems are the Hitler keeping the peasants stirred up.

They want to do away with history so no one sees what is happening.

We can't follow all these, what's wrong with you, peoples feelings will be hurt. Here is how I know. My inlaws are a large family, 60-70 gather for Christmas. Some one brought wafers, grahm crackers, & colorful candies to have a gingerbread house building contest for those who want to. It's fun. As a non contestant myself and aunt "Carol" were asked to judge the results. People team up however they choose to "compete".  When announcing the results of the judging I referred to the runner up as "The First Loser".  I unleashed the fury of one of my sister-in-laws as her 5 yr old grandson was on that team. How dare I use the word loser in the "Awards Ceremony" . I felt pretty bad  so I had 2nds & 3rds of dessert.

The processes are almost complete got one more the liberal democrat have to compare before the normalIzation .

the liberal s are the most dangerous to they will destroy this country’s with out a shot fire in defense. Easy

first is demoralization, the process to break down society to not know the difference between right and wrong ,rejection of God  , No heat no blame ,completed done

second is destabilizing the country , economic collapse , 2001 ,2008 ,2020 , complete done ,social collapses of

third is crisis ,COVID-19 ,blm  complete

the last step is normalization , jo Biden repeals  second amendment ?  Or a future Liberal  democratic lackey. Once the the second amendment is repealed . Then the government will be overthrown by dictatorship. And when that will be completed here is a matter of time .
it works and they have proved it , simple and cost effective . There are people in this country that a following this process .
the problem is they will not remain in power , when the dictator takes over then they will be eliminated ,no longer needed. They will fight it but the leaders will be eliminated. It’s part of the process ,been repeated in normalization over and over.

I may not see the end to this great nation but you youngsters will , if you let it you  better stand up for the constitution and defend it with all you got !

God save the United States of America

I truly believe that simply praying for our Lord and Savior to "fix" our country is only a small part of the solution.

We, as faithful followers of Jesus, have to act ourselves with God`s plan in our hearts and hands.

We are his hands on this earth.

They can appeal the second amendment, but when they try to confiscate guns, the civil war will start. They will never take guns , they may try but it won’t happen.

Maybe, maybe not. If a whole truck load of soldiers, blm, whatever shows up at your house in the middle of the nite and drags you out of bed, are you really gonna have much say?  I agree there will be resistance but they will stack the deck in thier favor somehow if things get that far.

And your neighbors will hide in their house while they drag you out. Hoping they don't find out they have guns also. Then when they come for them their won't be anyone to help them. No way anybody sticks together. It would be every man for himself and that's how they know they could get it done.

I will admit it doesn't apply to those of you farming.  But I was raised in the city, live in the city, none of my friends, family etc farm.

The only folks that farm that I know live on this board:) And I appreciate and respect each one of you producing the food  we eat.
