For those who want a FIL on everything

Recommended Posts

Case once made a commercial garden tractor with a Front End Loader.

Still nice looking and operational.

Be handy for small odd jobs.

My Buddy’s Dad has one. It was ok within its size range.  He kept a 2’ square box on the 3pt full of tire weights. There was no Kioti, Kubota, Mahindra, and Juan Deere mini tractors back then.  He used it for moving fire wood and we used it for hanging deer.

I assume that is a 400 series garden tractor. I have a 222 parts and want to get a running 222 or similar for a project ..........

I have one on a Cub Cadet SGT.   4' bucket with detachable tooth bar and forks, QA buckets, 600# lift to just shy of 6'......super handy around my property.

Power steering and lots of rear weight necessary.

Yeah, handy for small jobs and beats a shovel.

My PK fel has 24" AG rears and would not do much.

I hung 400# of weight on the rear, big improvement.

Still wouldn't penetrate my settled topsoil pile so I built a 5 toothed removable  bar  for the bucket.

Much better now.

Couldnt load hay bedded manure either till I put tooth bar on.

I like it.

Tooth bar is necessary for dirt work.  I added bucket level indicator when I built the bucket/fork QA......very handy....

On the way to Farmall land yesterday we stopped in Winterset to see a cousin. Dave is a big garden tractor collector, (and a great guy). He has one of these things. Gotta say, I was pretty impressed with the thing. He re-powered it with an 18 hp Briggs, also added a grader blade, mid-mount. I didn't take a picture. There's a pretty good chance I'll be back in the not too distant future, will try to get one then. He has some other stuff we're dealing on.

Another thing hiding in the shed I think people would like to see, (and didn't get a picture of it either) Is a 12 HP Fairbanks-Morse, (I think) hit and miss.

Could have spent the whole day inspecting his inventory and talking.
