Weight of this 1456?

Recommended Posts

I got my pump turned down so I don't smoke the belts off the feed grinder, I run L3 with mine, pull the stick when I feel it in my pants and still run out of traction before I run out of engine, even with Deep treads digging holes.  Of-course the old mechanical sled here is nothing like a new one with a dropping pan.

My 856 handles 3rd on a damned good track, a 1456 should take 4th no problem

The down pull is tremendous, I killed mine in the 10,500 class without duals in low fourth and she isn't stock. It takes a lot more power than a guy thinks. No farm jobs are even close to that down pull and amount of traction. 3rd is a good choice, hope your TA is stout cause I'm betting your gonna need it.

Pulling always tells the truth with TA’s!! A lot of people around here bring a 10 or 14 off the farm and think they have a good TA on the farm, off the farm not so much!!

Good luck Rusty!!!

Yep, went with my first 1466 25 years ago or so, thought I had a good TA, stopped when I pulled it in the 15,500 class.

I pulled my 1456 in low 3 at the local fair. Weighed 11500#. Good TA. spun out. I was the first puller, and the guy unhooking said to try a gear higher, so I did. still spun out. Next year, pulled Hi 1, spun out. I planned to try Hi 2 the next year, but the pulls were eliminated.

I remember watching Richard Lantis pull his gold demo 1456 at the Pennfield red power roundup in 2002.  He was in high 1st, never did run out of power.

Dad's 1256 would not run out of power in direct hi first, no matter what was behind it.  Never did take it to a pull, I always wanted to, though.

Richard had a 544 Gold Demo too. Wonder if the family still has it?
