I asked Uncle Mark about his thoughts on just pumping JD corn head grease in.. his response was impolite.

UNCLE Mark?????

No wonder he is spouting profanity.

So If Mark is your Uncle would that make you Boofmontonian?  Or a Vermontoofer?

Just asking for Sid since he is too shy to speak up!

Lol

I wasent going to comment but here’s a story for ya .

I hauled my Ford GT to Sacramento and we pulled the motor at a friends place .  Then hauled the motor to  LA  so a specialist could work his magic on it .

I will have to leave his name and business out of this.

As he got into my engine he called me up one night with a couple questions.

He said “ you have been running Avation fuel haven’t you ?

I said yes .

He said stop using that !!

Next question was “ you have been using the oil from Ford haven’t you?”

I said yes .

He said stop using that !!

I asked how he knew both those things ?

He said he could see the grey residue on the valves from a small amount of lead that AV has  and the oil has a distinct smell.

I asked what oil he wanted me to use and commented on the giant oil sticker on his race car and figured he was going to recommend that oil but his reply I will never forget.

He said just because it’s on my car dosent mean  I use it!

Then he said use only Mobil one synthetic

So I have been using that every since .

I figure if a guy can tell what oil I was using by the smell and what gas I was using by looking at the valves then I will take his advice on oil.

Oh BTW, he is a world record holder .

Heres a hint of his  credentials .

WOW! That Mustang scoots! I sell and use Schaeffer oils and they are pricey but worth it in my opinion. I've even ordered in for an amish customer who had a subaru needed 0W/20.

Must be a 4. Had a 4.0 6 and never made more than 16 when my daughter drove it, 12 if my son did. Never used oil.

4.0,4:10 gears and a 5 speed with 33x12.5-15 tires. They had stupid gears in the factory axles, 3.07 for a long time, just killed mileage because it was always working. I’d do 4.56 gears if I were doing it again but I am happy as it is.

Amish menonite! Sorry! lol! The amish menonites around here are pretty tech savvy! Just can't have shiny wheels, or radio.

small amount of lead that AV has

Even though it says 100LL or 100 Low Lead it's a little misleading. There's still a lot of lead, just low in comparison to 100/130 green gas. Yes, the oil, or rather the sludge,  has a different odor on avgas. I don't know if it's the lead or the other ingredients. Avgas is a different animal from mogas.
