Blue question

Recommended Posts

Been working on replacing a Ford 3600 dual stage clutch, But we have run into a few problems is there supposed to be play in the clutch fingers? and how many inches should the main throw out bearing carrier be from the transmission case?

I’m going to share some texts from my Ford friend who does this for his living

Well usually,  you are looking for about an 1"-1.5" of free play in the clutch pedal

throw out bearing should be probably about an  1/8 of an inch or a little more away from the fingers.

He doesn't want all 3 fingers at the same hieght...   they should be staggered about a 1/16th of an inch from each other.  That way when you release the clutch it's not jumpy
