What did you do today ?

Recommended Posts

Well we actually started monday on a septic upgrade at a local community farm store, They are upgrading their kitchen which required installing a

1500 gallon "grease trap tank " and an additional 1500 gal tank for capacity downstream of the existing 3000 gal tank , well ,,,,,,, when we dug around the old 3000

she started sprouting leaks everywhere 😀     So i called the site engineer and got his ok to put in a 5000 gal 2 compartment tank ,  Nice heavy duty H20 load commercial tank

of course we were 2 ft into ground water which is always fun , few pics of the old Cat gettin it done

Trying to keep the hole dry , I hate a chocolate mess

The left side of the hole was very loose , It's where the old tank lived , which was 18 inches away from a 6 in water main !!

I have to abide by Title V rules and keep the new tank 10 ft away from the main

The little 2 in electric pump ran all last night , kept it nice for this morning

The big Palfinger crane handled the tank beautifully !!

3 section tank ready for backfill ,  Talked to the Board of health inspector

He said take some good pix for me cuz I cant make it out for an inspection today 😀

Mine wasn’t nearly that exciting. I watched the little man today since I was off and Momma had to be at work. We ran a CAT for a little bit but it wasn’t quite as large as yours....

My colleague and I worked on one of the quad axle chip trailers that the mill uses to haul wood chips to the paper mill. Brakes, tires, hub seals, some welding and structural repair, it needed some love.

Got up and cooked my wife breakfast before she went to work. Shes 8mo along has very few requests of me. Put together a little pos pull behind fertilizer spreader for my mom. Why did she need it today? Dunno. Then spread her whole yard with lime and fertilizer in the rain. Did a little work on a couple tractors. Put my 2350 loader on 986 mounts and all. Fed the bottle calves for the second time. Took kids out to gather eggs after I cooked supper and fed them to help my wife that was at work all day. Made a couple errands earlier in the day to get some parts. Unloaded a skidloader and unhooked trailer so I could pull my pickup in the garage. Cleaned my shop a little. Now watching this retched series special ozark on netflix that I'm not sure if I like it or it gives me anxiety 🤷‍♂️  so here i am watching this show in one eye and typing this "book" to my tractor buddies as my wife calls it. Probably watch a little youtube of my favorite farming channels and pass out. Tomorrow do it all over again. My real job is in a couple days.   Thanks for asking 🤣

Thanks for posting that,  I didn't know that you could twist off a PTO shaft on an 806 just by turning it on too fast.   I'll be more careful next time I turn one on.

Seeded 40 acres of cereals for silage.

Took all morning to load up the seed and get everything to the field, finally started seeding  at 1 o’clock and was finished by 9 o’clock with only a couple of interruptions (phone calls)

moved  the seed trailer to the next field for tomorrow.

I was hoping to seed 70 acres today (big dreamer!).
here’s what I was driving today, 3688 with a 5300 - 21 run Seed drill with a packer behind
