Cobey wagon parts needed.

I have a Cobey running gear that has a broken arm on the left hand spindle.  This arm presses into the spindle with a nut on the back side.  The arm is the attachment point to the spindle for the tie rod.

Where could I begin to find such a part?

Well Cobey went out of business around forty some years ago. Ask around if any old dealers in your area might have sold them and hava old parts yet. Their wagons didn't have the best reputation. They were in Galion Ohio.

looks like the arm is just welded to a bolt head, just have a welding shop weld  to new bolt. make sure are parts are freed up.

That sounds like the best idea yet.

Maybe this will teach me not to accept someone’s help that is clumsy with a large payloader....

We got a cobey ,had it 60 years , works fine . Sorry I never had a problem with it. Have to look at mine to see if I have the same part in steering.
I think the suggested grade 8 bolt and welds will work for you . Maybe little hammer forge to ,you will be back in business

Believe it or not, but I have a couple.  And the remains of a Cobey spreader!

Still use ours for a little ear corn.  Running gear is so pathetically wore out its impossible to back up.  Been thinking about putting a new"er" 8 ton gear underneath it.

My bil still runs (3) cobey silage wagons. Hard to find a rear unload smaller wagon and they have had them for years. The one wagon will pass you up going down the road ?20170831_154628_IMG_2515.thumb.JPG.5e62abd77ab91fabd6fc382fd02ca227.JPG

Steel sides? The only ones I’ve ever seen are wooden sided ones.

Steel sides and steel floor. That's why they like them. When we get done we power wash them up good and leave them sit outside.

The first picture is the broken left side.

The second picture is the unbroken right side.
