Over the past 2 years people have asked why I enjoy driving over the road. Today I got a picture of 1 of the reasons I enjoy it.

Thanks for sharing WP. I can remember seeing some sites like that when I drove OTR years ago. Always enjoyed driving the western states.

I got home an hour ago from hauling stone in Yellowstone National Park for 2 days. The park is closed to the public but I was hauling for the contractor on a big project. I saw 12 people in 2 days .more bison than I could count. Gorgeous scenery and no traffic. What an awesome experence. Slept in the truck. Dead quiet. and the moonlit night. Beautiful

I loaded salt west of Salt Lake City. The white and red piles are salt.

Can you imagine how rough that is on equipment?  The dozer must melt in just a few years

Think I may have been through there once 20 or so years ago. Haven't been to Wyoming in a long time, miss it. So different than Iowa!

Where did you take the salt?  We buy salt for feed by the semi load but it comes out of Kansas.

This went to Denver. I live 6 miles from Independent Salt in Kanopolis Kansas. Let me know if you need salt

Do you do anything special to protect your rig from the salt?

No. Trailer is pretty much all aluminum. I probably average a load of salt a week. Hauled 2 loads this week. This is the first one at Neligh Nebraska

Hutch is 60 miles away. They have a finer feed grade than Kanopolis.

Everything around here comes from Kansas. That’s one of my favorite runs. Good share of it comes from Lyons here

I don’t like loading in Lyons. Just personal preference. I know all of the mines have terrible lines during the winter but I still like Kanopolis. I can leave my truck in line and go home. 😜
