Ok here is an update.   I've installed the reverser valve and manifold.   Wasn't a bad job but there are some things a guy needs to do to make it go easier.   I installed the reverser valve then tried to install the manifold.   If anyone ever has to do that it's best to leave everything very loose so you can line all the tubes and bolts up before final tightening of all the bolts.   It's almost a two person job.   But I got it alone.

My torque converter finally showed up after being lost in pergotory for weeks.   So I should have that back by this time next week and will put her all back together.   Hope this goes well.   Will update when I have her moving again.

Raleigh99...that torque converter is from my machine.   Since the pilot was bent and since I had it out I figured I'd have it rebuilt so I didn't have to worry about it.  Precision of New Hampton Iowa is rebuilding it for me.  Price unknown at this time.  The pump and drive plate came from Browns international and that total came to just around 570 bucks plus shipping.   Those guys at both Browns and Precision bent over backwards to get me what I needed.   I highly recommend both.

Update for anyone who's been reading these posts.   So I got the torque converter back from Precision of New Hampton.   Went about installing everything and it went back together fairly smoothly.   I had a tube made for the reverser, the tube that feeds it oil.   In the end the grooves were not cut quite deep enough for the o-rings and it ruined the internal o-ring upon installation.   So when I started the ol girl up, she still didn't move.   That was yesterday.

Last night I made my own tube on my lathe.   Installed it today and she drives like a dream.   I see no leaks, hear no strange noises and everything operates like it should.   So I can say that this 500E is back in action as soon as the weather allows.

The price for the torque converter rebuild was around 550 dollars with shipping included.   So I have roughly 1200 in this fix.   Was a very good learning experience.

My buddy Tom was feeling left out of this discussion so I figured I would mention that he did help me with this project from time to time.

Anyway...I guess I'll put the sheet metal on and all the belly pans and guards.   Thanks for all the advice I got from you guys on here.

Think I'm gonna look into buying a IH TD 15 for the next project.

Thanks for the update.  Always nice to hear the outcome of a project.  Happy tractoring.

X2, it's always good to hear how the project turns out. To many times we are left hanging without knowing the outcome.

I'll give a final update when the weather dries up enough for me to go finish what I was doing when it broke down on me.   All I was able to do today was drive it a little bit. I'm pretty confident that it's back in service but I need to work it a bit before I am 100% sure.

Ok here is a final update.   Finally got dry enough to work and didn't have anything else pressing to do.   So I worked the dozer today.   Completely flawless operation.   If anything it seems to push more then it did before.   So maybe the torque converter was getting weak before??  Anyway, I'm happy to say that the 500 E is complete.   Thanks again for the help.
