Farmall 140 late production changes

Recommended Posts

I have just discovered that the Farmall 140, in the last couple of years of production, requires a different Operator's Manual (serial number 62741 and upwards) to the earlier ones.

What changes were made to this long lasting tractor model that made this necessary?                                                                                                                                                                                                    Changes in the operator's area? New options? New implements or attachments?

Does anyone here own a mid 1977 or later International Farmall 140?

Regards from Michael H. in Australia.         🔧

P.S. This won't affect any Australians as the Farmall 140 disappeared from our market in the late 1960s.

Several things come to mind.  Spin on oil filter, availability of a ROPS, and wiring harness with trailer connections.

Horizontal bar grill to a vertical looking mesh grill and key with push button start vs. the left hand pull lever are two I can think of real quick.  Maybe a switch from 6 v to 12 v at the same time as the switch to a key and start button.  I don't remember it all.

Check out "farmall51" on Youtube. He owns two very late 140's.

He's also a member here but looks like he hasn't been on since December.
