Was up at the lake in Downeast Maine a couple weeks ago

Not much snow this year so I was able to get in with the truck

Got this photo on the way out in the morning

If that was me,

once I was there and had a fire in the stove,

it would be awful hard to get me to leave!

Can't do it this year but when I retire in 26 I will be spending a whole winter there regardless of the snow pack.

If it's a bad year we just park at the road and take the sled in and out

I'm a big fan of black and white photography. Here's one of my favorite photos I took at this past year's Midwest Winter Nationals in Shipshewana. Darren Bommer's IPL 510 Hot Farm, I believe. image.thumb.png.9595d1e7c8b0419ce1437c052b8947cb.png

Wow!  It even landed on water like the real one.  Gotta love rich boys toys. 😁

Look at what was capable way back then.  it's kind of disgusting to me that we haven't advanced farther than we already have by now.

I would like to think that in 60 years,  innovation could have led to much better, more reliable products.  We have all of this fancy electronic, tree hugging garbage made in China that doesn't last long enough to justify the garbage it's made out of. We can have all of this high tech garbage, but we can't make it last, kind of disgusting to me.

I can't take credit for this, my son took it tonight.  He had just finished working up my daughter's horse arena with my 806.

Think, we went to the moon 55 years ago.  And really haven't been any where since.  Sure alot of advancements, but if you told NASA in 1969 that we would not be on some sort of Innerstellar mission by 2024 they would never believe it.  Now let me say, I don't care.  We got more than we need and half the time some discovery seems like just a fresh interpretation of what we knew.  Besides why not just keep this place up not goto a frozen/burning red rock 5 years away?🤷🏼‍♂️

Some in NASA worked on the prinicple that after the moon shots the money would run out - so they got out
