Brian W 5
Hello, just wanted some thoughts on what tire size I may need on my 5088. It has 10.00-16 4 rib Firestone’s now and they just seem to small, they seem to make the front end point downhill. It has 18.4-38s on rear. Is 11.00-16 a good size. Or is there another size in between. Thanks.

Looking at the pic it looks like the tires are very low profile or worn out My 1086 came out new with 10.00-16's and it had 20.8.38's on the rear and its looked fine using firestone 4 ribs 11.00-16 is the next jump in size but will take large rims also
Brian W 5
Yes they are shot, seems like at one time I remember seeing a oddball 10.00 size tire that didn’t need a bigger rim.
Red666 26
had 11.00x16 on tractor with 18.4x 38 and the front end went up hill which lowered the drawbar. not a good thing.
Paystar5000 160
At work we have a John Deere 4250 with 18.4x38 and 10.00 fronts and it sits level. The front tires are BKT 4 rib. We have a set of firestone 4 rib on another tractor that look to be the same profile as the BKT. 11.00-16 will need a 10 inch wide rim to really get the right profile for that size tire. Maybe check your rim width. A 10.00-16 on a 10 inch rim would look kind of like what your picture shows.

That's a good point. I always think that the crooked drawbar in the lower position on my 5088 is awfully low. What brand of 18.4 38's are on the tractor? The other question I have is how did they get that worn down on the front? I went back to three ribs on the front because stubble damage always ruined the tire before the tread was worn much. Three ribs last better in no till situations I feel.
billonthefarm 904
My 5088 had 11.00x16’s. Seemed perfect.
