Amish Farmer was out plowing yesterday

Recommended Posts

Was headed to Middlefield on route 528 to go to have lunch at Mary Yoders. Saw freshly plowed ground. Scanning the farm saw team of drafts out there, taking a break. Thought , look at that. 🤔January and farmer 👨‍🌾 out there turning over his field on a nice day. Just had to say , what difference this winter is.

Yes, Middlefield should have a foot of snow on the ground this time of year. I was at Mt Hope yesterday and I didn't see anyone in the field in Holmes county.

You where ! That’s a busy busy community!  Like being in a Amish rush hour all day .
I went the Amish home and flowers 🌺 show last year ,what and educational visit. I like to go again this year.

Ran the car AC yesterday to stay cool.  Nice spring rain today, rivers/creeks are at flood stage. Need to spray weed killer on the yard.

Looking forward to some winter. This weather is normal for this area.  Just when are ready to plant, a frost arrives and kills the corn or whet ever you were tricked into planting.

I've been to Holmes County a handful of times; my folks go a couple times a year. Beautiful country.

We are doing a lot of plowing here too. The white stuff, 57" so far and another 10" to come tonight. -28* this morning ! Yesterday we were heading out to Bible study got about six miles from home and had right front tire blow out on the truck and it's -22* !!!!! I'm not going to change that out on the road in the dark and all kinds of traffic. Turned around drove home sloooowly ! Tire is shreds but the rim looks good yet. I guess I needed two new front tires anyway !

Good move! I cringe when I see someone changing a tire in the breakdown lane. I told my kids drive it way off the road or drive it out of a bad neighborhood. In 1980 I was based in Philly, had a brand new car and lost a tire on the Schuylkill (sure kill) Expressway. I drove it for miles to get it off that treacherous road. Tire was gone and rim ground aluminum. Both were probably gone anyway as the Schuylkill was poorly maintained and full of holes at the time.
