Multi use farmall muffler

Recommended Posts

So in 98 I put a Buick V6 from a delta 88 in a s10. I put mufflers on from a jd b I think. My daughter was there when the first start happened. It was so loud I shut it off and said no. Kinda was fun but only got 12 mpg because of burning the tires.

My old 300 had a flowmaster, sounded sweet. Same mufflers I have on the Dart swinger which has a 340 in it20170708_210825.thumb.jpg.8a084c1ac58f94e829c3786dcda805b3.jpg

I like the muffler on our 464 with the D179 engine. It is a 16" piece of 3/16 4" square tube capped off with 2 1/4 DOM pipe input and output no baffles. Reminds me of the expansion chamber on my 360 CC Bultaco motor crosser from 1968. It is under-slung and thick so it stays on. Actually on the little D179 it is not badly loud at working  speeds.

Dad's GMC he had in the late 70s had an M muffler on it.

The Allis B that's at my grandparent's farm has a cherry bomb muffler on it.

I put two M mufflers, from the dealer, under my old 72 Chevy back in the day. It sounded great.

Dunno, guess we were sorta poorer or something, just stuck a few feet of three inch well pipe on the M.  F-20 also IIRC.

best, randy
