True enough.  It's hard to keep the water out.  Association with excellent people helps to keep it out.

That's what's so great about this forum.

Or went nuts..

I don't see many who are healing.  I see people starting to go nuts.

When you give to another your Time - You have given the most precious commodity known to exist.

You can't make it, you have a limited supply, it belongs to no other!

And trust no one, but those, when asked for their help, reply only with, "Do I Need A Shovel"....

"so often times it happens, that we live our lives in chains, and we never even know we have the key"

From Already Gone, my favorite Eagles song of all time.

Here's Don Felder doing it live recently:

Use it up,

Wear it out,

Make it do,

Or do without.

I always liked that saying.  It was apparently popular during WW2.

I think we're about to find out why those old-fashioned people who lived through the great depression part one saved string and rubber bands and cool whip containers and nails and coffee cans and.....

It's been awfully easy to buy stuff, then throw away what you don't want.

This a throw away world we live in.

Would not hurt to practice the frugality of that generation that didn't have an option.

My late Uncle would dismantle the old abandoned businesses on village Main Street in the 60 and 70’s and would salvage it all to build on the farm, I miss him but not constantly working with straightening old nails

Pretty sure somewhere in the shop or barn I have an old paint can full of straightened nails?

.....the 80 yr old and I were sitting up that Doug Fir covered hill, t'other day .....having a spell after draging up a couple of choker's   and a strop or two......Malcolm,   pointed out  one of my boot laces had come undone...............he reminded me of an old  cockie that had passed , many years ago.....  a bloke who had farmed through the depression  years....had struggled to survive...missed the cut for WW2 because....""the ********   reckoned  he was to old..."" but like a lot of men, had accumulated much knowledge and wisdom over a lifetime...

He offered my friend this thought, about 60 years ago....

""If a bloke is giving you advice......always check to see if his boots are laced  up.....if they are not laced up....ignore  that advice...""

And I have found that if I have one pant leg tucked inside my boot and the other one out.............I am not bothered by people looking for advice. ?
