Recommended Posts

I heard the page go out for that yesterday. It was right on the SD/WY border... too far for me to go (about 30 miles)

Looking at what's left it must have been one of the newer F-150s with the aluminium body.

And it took out what s what, a 500k motor coach? (I have no idea).  I think I'd have been trying to Unhitch that thing a bit faster. Easy to say from here I know.

You're going to need a lot of buffing compound and a good strong elbow

Not trying to put anyone down but chances are this was a older person or couple ( only ones moving a motor coach this time of year or would have the money to afford the half million dollar motor coach and new pickup truck. ) so they probably aren't the fastest moving people to be trying to unhook a flaming truck.

Why not unhook the pick up before it destroys your motor home.

See my possible scenario above. When you're 70+ you aren't as fast as you used to be. Especially in a panic situation. Don't know if this is the case, but it's a possibility

This

There has been more than one guy on here that believes if the combine catches fire you should walk home and call the fire department.

At least you won't have to argue with the adjuster over whether or not to write it off.....!

Pickup truck being towed by motor home destroyed by fire

Gary Matthews - December 5, 2019

SPEARFISH, S.D. - Spearfish fire crews along with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office and Highway Patrol responded to a pickup on fire on I-90 Thursday afternoon.

The driver of an eastbound RV pulling a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup noticed smoke coming from the towed vehicle.

The patrol says the driver pulled the unit over safely to the side of the road when the F-150 then started on fire.

The driver and a passenger safely exited the vehicle, but the pickup truck was total loss. The RV also sustained major damage to the rear end.

Spearfish fire responded to put the fire out.
