Road trip to New York state

Recommended Posts

Today I met Hot Plug at his place and we headed down to visit ChrisNY.

It’s only an hour and a half drive from Hot Plug’s to Chris’s place, it was the first time we had the opportunity to visit.

Chris and his wife Terry are fantastic people! He took us on a tour of his area and his farm while Terry slaved away making us a fantastic lunch!

He even took us to a beach on Lake Ontario, there was no babes in bikinis and lucky for us it was too cold to see Hot Plug in his speedo!

We would like to thank Chris and Terry for the wonderful visit!

We appreciate the visit and look forward to seeing the both of you again!

I am not sure if it is another 1 1/2 to get here, and only another 40 minutes to see TP at a tractor pull.. Sounds much closer to not add all the times together

Count your blessings Bitty that we are as far from the black line as we are.

I don't know where all you went, but if you were near ChrisNY, you weren't far from me. I hope you enjoyed New York! I know I like Quebec, but it's been a while.

We were just west of Belleville and north of Ellisburg, Chris took us to a friend of his who is just south of Watertown for a little visit too.

So what part of Quebec are you familiar with?

I live just south of Watertown, about 40 minutes' drive. I'm glad you seem to have enjoyed it.

I've only been just over the NY/QC border for short trips. My cousins family lives way up north there. They all speak french and I don't, and I was younger. I honestly can't remember any of the place names.

Met Chris and his female friend, (wife or girlfriend I dunno) at Bloomsburg.

He treated me with MUCH more respect than Pete did for sure!

Have made a few trips up through NY and thought that state would NEVER end!

And between PA`s I80 and NY`s I81, there was nothing much left of my car`s suspension.

How do you know about Saint Catherine Street?

Have you been there participating maybe?

Or just a tourist/spectator?

We really enjoyed touring around Chris’s area, it’s a lot different than just flying down the 81. There’s lots of fields with hills in his area, I may have seen one or two flat fields!

So I guess you were in the Eastern townships of Quebec, I was just down there a few times in the past couple of weeks trucking hay, there is mostly English speaking people in that area where I was.  Quebec is mostly French but you do get pockets of English only people, it just depended when they originally settled the area, basically it depended on which boatload they came on! LOL

She is Chris’s wife, you were probably nicer to Chris than you were to Pete....

She probably would’ve “put you in your place” if you were mean to Chris!

I was thinking the same thing when I was driving down to Bloomsburg… It’s like driving on the roads around home!

That van should look more like this.

Bonus points for knowing the reference. Only for Americans, though. All Canadians are obligated to know the reference.
