Rookie17 8
I just got this from my Grandpa, needs a fair amount of work to keep her in the family. The injection pump is and RD and is leaking at the throttle shaft. In one picture you can see I took the primary/transfer pump off. The primer knob/gravity feed knob broke off. I had it repaired. I know the throttle shaft o rings can be repaired on the tractor. I have seen other posts, but not a procedure or a parts diagram. I called Precision Diesel in Red Oak Iowa and Rex recommend I at least find a parts diagram. I saw IHbrad had some procedure but I couldn’t message him for some reason. Any help would be great thanks!
Farmall1066 1,816
I don’t know much about the RD pump, someone here will get you what you need, but that’s a good looking 806!! M&W turbo I see as well!! Maybe try post this question in the general IH section, might get more exposure.
Rookie17 8
So, I have a lot to learn my turbo says airesearch t104... i saw another one up north with this turbo? I assumed they were off a 1206? My boots are rotten on the turbo inlet and it had the wrong air cleaner on it. So I got the right stuff... any idea on that ? Thanks! 65806 191
Cool that you’re going to keep your grandpa’ 806 running. here are the parts breakdown for the RD. In including the table of contents so if you need a few other pages I can get them. 70 page book so I’m not posting the entire thing. I would recommend getting a manual. They are pretty sensitive to dirt so be sure things are super clean when going back together. good luck. 3
Dan Robinson 395
Pretty straight ol 806. Got any more pics of the turbo setup? Looks like a cross between a M&W and homemade. Ill send Brad Twiss (IHBRAD) a message on facebook.

So when my grandpa bought this it had this set up on it... it looks some I’ve took combine parts and made some sort of air filter. He never cared he was pretty practical. They cut a huge hole in the hood and ran the pipe through it to that big air cleaner. I have since got a hood and the right air cleaner assembly which came off one with this exact set up, minus the combine parts. I know I have more pictures I just can’t find them in my 5000 pictures. stronger800 840
Looks like a great tractor and good situation to have. Ours was put together like this, 40+ years ago, and I've grown to like it. -It also dynoed 165+, and was our big unit for many years. Post pics of your air filter once it's on there. I will try to get pics of our 856 with the stock filter and an M+W.
rrr4quality 237
When I bought my 806 a couple years ago it ran great, but fuel was leaking bad from the shaft on the RD pump. I had read all the quick fix posts but eventually just sent it off to Spencer Diesel in Iowa. It wasn't cheap but they fixed it up right!

Rookie17 8
Did the 806 have a fan shroud? I think someone has added this to my tractor?
IHhogfarmer 1,516
Yes the 806’s has factory installed fan shrouds
nepoweshiekfarmalls 2,068
They are mostly concealed by the side panels. You can just see a tiny bit of it at the top from this angle.

Someone pounded on them with a hammer to bend the out around the shroud.
65806 191
Previous owners maybe put a fan and shroud from a 1206. It’s wider and uses different side panels
IHhogfarmer 1,516
^^^^ this could be a possibility 1 hour ago, Rookie17 said: The reason I ask is that my panels are bent out to fit this radiator shroud. I have no idea what the story behind why his are like that tho. Maybe we could find the width of a 1206 shroud and measure the shroud on your 806 to have a better idea of what you have

560Dennis 1,396
If need someone rebuild that pump check Ed out on face book Guenther Heritage Diesel , he did my 560 . Or message him on here, I felt it was better to has someone that had done them before do it for me cause I didn’t want to redo the pump . Diesel shops in northeast Ohio never seen one . Granted I didn’t interview all of them but I was very uncomfortable about selecting them . theres your dinner 🥘
