Today I put the rest of the tractor back together but my battery was to dead to start it today so tomorrow I’m going to charge the battery and hopefully start the tractor

Well the Ca is sounding a whole lot better since there is no exhaust leak but when I drove it up our road it spit and sputtered like crazy. I went a picked up some new points for the tractor because I thought that was the trouble. When I went to change them I spun the engine over with the distributor cap off to see if the old points were any good. When I done this I realized that one of the lobes on the shaft in the distributor was completely flat. I ordered a new distributor last night so hopefully it will get here soon and can make the tractor run better.

Well today I changed the distributor. Put a new coil on to while I was at it. For about 30mins we couldn’t get it to crank and realized that the points were not set like they said they would so reset the points and the tractor fired right up. Let it idle for about 10mins then cut it off. Whenever this rain passes I will take it back up the road to see if it is fixed for sure.

What the difference between a C and and CA?

The Ca has hydraulics. The Ca has more horsepower than the C. The Ca has a 4th gear for the road that the C didn't have. The Ca has a hand clutch that "broke" the differential so you was able to have a live pto. The Ca has the powershift rims like the famous WD. There's probably some stuff I'm forgetting but that is most of the differences.

C vs CA is comparable to styled WC vs WD.
The differences between a styled WC and a WD are the same as the differences between a C and CA, I do believe. TJ did a good job explaining it.

Hope that makes sense.
Wouldn’t mind seeing a pic of your WD if you got one.

Took the tractor up the road Sunday and buddy did it run good. Now while I have the hood off I'm going to adjust the valves. I'm waiting on a valve cover gasket so I can replace it when I pull the cover off. Ordered it from a local tractor parts store about 2 weeks ago. If it ain't here by the end of the week and since I haven't paid for it yet I'm just going to order one myself. Does anybody know if I could buy one at napa or somewhere like that?

A WD picture you say? Maybe a 45 pic too. First two are actually the same tractor, second one with corn-picker pedestal. Next is an early Wd. Then 'Grandpa', boght new in '52. Last the 'Narrow Front' 45.

Thanks for the pictures, they are all very cool. I especially like the cultivators, don’t see them very often in pictures.

Here’s the WD my dad (Adam - NC) restored back when I was to little to remember.

I like how we’re having a full blown Allis Chalmers topic on the red power page.  : )

Brody, I have a two row snap-coupler planter that I hope to get put together someday and use Grandpa and the cultivators on some sweetcorn.

Today it hit the mid 60’s around here so why not just spend the day working on the tractor! So I took the valve cover off and check valve adjustment. Only one valve was out of adjustment so readjusted it and now she runs smoother than ever. Now it’s time to wash and wax this girl for a tractor show coming up Feb 29. Rumor has it I might get to plow with this girl with my one bottom plow lol

I figured y’all already saw in the coffee shop but figured would do a post on here. Well went to the tractor show and saw some very pretty tractors while I was there. Everyone who came through got a token and got to vote on which tractor was the best. I can’t believe with all the good looking tractors there that I won!  After the show me, Brody, and Brody’s dad went down to our schools FFA barn and plowed for mine and Brodys first time. What a great experience!

After the tractor show l started cleaning the rust off the one bottom plow for paint. Put one coat of primer on it and then sprayed the frame with orange and the moldboard with black. Now I’m in the process of buying a another Allis. A Allis Chalmers WD.

Been awhile since I have posted anything but nothing has happened to the Ca but I got a WD as u probably have saw and repainted it quick. Wednesday I fought the original cultivators that came with my tractor. Went and picked them up Thursday and have started to work on them. Hopefully I will have a set of cultivators on the Ca pretty soon
