Was too poor to keep my old muscle cars

Recommended Posts

This guy wasn`t... man I miss my old hot rods!

Would probably wrap them around a tree today if I still had one.

Reaction time ain`t what it was.

Great pic.  I took one of a '71 442 just yesterday at a gas station. My dad had one.  Sold that and got a 9n and a Massey something.  I i remember about it is it became an 806 after a few years, so, it kinda worked out. (Sort of) yea that's what I'll tell myself .

Scattered the F100 in College and sold it for rent money.

Sold my 5.0 and used the money for seed and fertilizer.

Most of the big block pulling truck is a round here still.

Don't have one on this phone. Didn't look like much. Just an old Dodge Crewcab on 35's.

My dad kept this car in great shape since almost new, got it from his brother who bought new but died soon after, he even had a chevy luv that matched, the first is dart now , second was the luv in the 80s, the 3rd pic is the dart 8n the 80s in Mississippi on a cross country trip from Minnesota, and the last is my wedding with original paint on the car in 2006, you can see it was kept in nice shape20170202_181944.thumb.jpg.7a951fb410687b06592c47b62709c084.jpg15707499061366542980369487183723.thumb.jpg.02edd958ed2b793e2c1b80048a930be6.jpg15707499791644715479500798686189.thumb.jpg.082172ef92d5b9be0885290d6d8c4c5a.jpg15707502036353910233019156025677.thumb.jpg.b0e922630aa5f46410ff138d056c17b7.jpg

Well there sure were times when I could have sold mine, when there was too much month left at the end of the money...  glad now that I didn’t... have owned it continuously for 50 years now ..

Have pieces of my 1st one that will be used on current ones. Ramcharger hood will go on the 69 Super Bee. 440 will go in the 68 Charger R/T. Transmission will go in the 68 Coronet R/T. Glad i have hung on to this stuff. Now to get caught up from graduations/weddings/medical bills and move on to cars and shop....i hope...and maybe my old M will get a splash of red on it...

Yea I got rid of a 68 GTO for a wife and kids.........no regrets. Now my sister married a guy with a 68 Mustang fastback. He got rid of that for a family sedan. Knowing my sister.......I bet he wishes that he'd of kept the Stang and dumped her🤣!

I cannot speak to old muscle cars, never driven one, I sure do lust after some moose iron however.

I CAN speak to new muscle cars , I got to go pick up a 2019 charger pursuit AWD 5.7 hemi police cruiser. OMG! I have never been in anything like it

370 hp, 395 lb/ft of torque 5 speed selectable auto (3/4 ton trans) aaaaaaaaand AWD, I dunno what the tires are on them but they are stiff, and run 50 lbs of air pressure, drove it back 160 miles , that thing corners flat as a pancake, no body roll whatsoever and with AWD it’s like a cat on a curtain, I don’t know what speed it might get creepy in a corner, but I will say whatever speed that is it’s going to be so fast things are ugly.

Man you want to talk about able to pass????!?? WHEW!

I’m more horned up over that car than 1586Jeff turned loose in Tupper Lake at a wet flannel shirt contest.

ALSO! They had a challenger Hellcat, wide body  on the floor and I have some pictures.

OOOoOooooooOOO it’s SOOO SEXY!

at the bottom see said charger, what a sleeper!

New muscle is very refined and smooth much like a new tractor.

The sounds, smells and feel of the old muscle cars is what i enjoy. Much like getting on an 06 or 66 series tractor with the pump turned up a little. More raw and less refined.

Agree with new guy on the raw unrefined rush of old muscle

It's not all about speed, hook up.

Trust me vtf,  it's a rush second to none

I agree, in the context that they run like a raped ape, compared to any other big 3 v8 a Mopar always sounds better though open headers than their counterparts, motors aside, with good lower control arm bushings it’s hard to beat the torsion bar ride
