California fire

I absolutely love the balls the power company showed with this.

It shows there are consequences for the lawsuit.

They got sued because the wind allegedly shorted their wires and started a fire and they had to pay a huge sum.

Only common sense would now have them shut off the power when the wind blows to prevent future fires and lawsuits.

Don't think any of the "Powers That Be" seen this coming.

Perhaps the businesses in LA & San Francisco should all quit remitting sales tax and property taxes.

Since those liberal idiots run on other peoples money, they should shut it off.

First thing I thought when I heard about it.................That is 100% right, put them in the dark if you can't survive in business when everyone will sue you after each fire.............put them in the dark through every fire season IMO.  I don't understand how they can put the blame on them for a fire starting that burned a ton of acres?  How in the world can you prove the fact???????

Pacific Gas & Electric has not been a efficient company in a long time.Even though they are one of the biggest investor owned electric providers. How the public utilities commission  gives them rate increases so they can give grants to local government is a con game in my mind. So I thought the socialist state government was in on all this,a prefect new tax without hardly anybody noticing. Rebuild towns with lawsuit money from PG&E. PG&E get a rate increase and everything goes on as if all is well. Well "green socialists" are not that smart. So I think it is well justified that we suffer the power outages.

The one fire started right under a 1930,s high voltage transmission line that has had no major repairs since it was built. No real vegetation removal because of greenies in years,in a National Forest. Saggy wires high winds lots of fuel, disaster in a hours time at 8 AM. Add that roads into and out of Paradise Cal had been reduced in lanes in the last 20 years to slow traffic. Or traffic calming as left so likes to put it.

In the last 20 years there has been much more tree trimming effert. But in my mind mostly window dressing/ job security for those in the tree trimming business. I see a aborest twice a year checking and a trimming crew at least once a year on my place. I keep hollering cut the tree down and go away for 5 years, never happens.

So I better get my pumps wired so I can plug them into a generator. Much cheaper to run the little cheap gennies and keep my meat frozen and the cows watered, that one that would run everything at once. vtfireman 85 what you doing this winter?

So.... they built all these wind tower/generators to make clean electrical energy, then when they finally get enough wind to make some power they have to shut them off because the wind might cause the power lines to short out and cause a fire.... Huh, didn't see that one coming.

Hey Guys ,Just got here , Thanks for the thoughts !

I thought I saw this coming when law suits were filed on PG&E .

Can't say as I blame them , Their way to SLAP us back.

Ray 54 pretty much some it up above.

AS for us out here in Deplorable Land ,so far so good , but I keep waiting for they to include us in some Geographical area to Slap us also.

Where I am in Central Valley ,We are pretty much all Cultivated ,Irrigated flat lands, very little threat of massive wild fire.  The foothill range lands are approximately 50-75 miles East and West of us and Northern Fire areas are 5-6 hours North and L.A. fire areas are about the same.

I will say we are being affected by business shutdowns in The North effected areas for parts or service because power outage. Received an E-Mail yesterday from a Company that is doing work for me that they were shutting down all parts and service until power is back and they had no idea when.

Everyday get a little more disheartening being from California.

On a Good Note however! This weekend is the Paso Robles Pioneer days Parade and I have entered  my 1945 L.A. Case , ( they like the older stuff ,so its the oldest I have) and Mel Monterio is taking one of his oldies and hopefully we can enjoy Ray54's home town for a fun weekend with no power outages .lol.

       I'll try getting some pictures.

            Thanks ,

              Tony

Your in the Promise Land!  That is the area of smart people on both coasts and a little outpost in the middle called "Chicag-shoot-O"........the rest of us in the United States of Deplorables came down from the hills with our bazookas and put us in this mess!  All credit for this message goes to and deserves to go to the national media.  Now back to your regularly scheduled programming...........

Hmmm.

San Francisco is the only county in the nine-county Bay Area where power will not be affected by blackouts.

P, G & E is bankrupt.

Power is off to a lot of people.

University of California  Berkley is closed due to no power.

These people are now in the same position as the homeless whom they love and protect.

Without power!

Go Libs!

Personally, "I don't give a Schiff?"

Democracy in action right there..........don't they have anything better to do?  Don't the citizens have any brains to realize they SHOULD be doing something more productive?

apparently the majority of Californians are not effected by most of this yet and feel that they won’t be. Those that are effected are obviously the minority and their vote doesn’t count as for as most of the politicians are concerned. I have a brother-in-law that is planning to leave California because of the political climate there. I think this is just the beginning of the things California is going to experience. It is going to effect all of us sooner or later.

The only problem for socialists/democrats in California is there are no republicans left to be blamed for anything that makes the people mad. But they are working to dum the population as fast as possible.

Tony,  No worries.  Gavin Newsom and his minions have plans in place to fix any problems caused by man or beast.
