Repairs of the 766

Recommended Posts

Calcium has been leaking out both rear tubes.  Finally had enough of that,  had tire guy come out.  Valve stems were close to ripping off tubes.  He hauled away fluid & tubes.  Wired wheel one rim tonite,  did it outside.  What a mess that was.  Left side is worse.

Grandfather,  Dad,  myself plowed snow with 53 SuperW6.  It’s time for a cab tractor.  Had a fan motor,  but no heater core!  Got one from local wrecker as core is no longer available from caseIH.  Ran heater hoses,  haven’t finished that project yet.

Lost 2100 lbs of fluid.  Tractor came with 1 weight per wheel,  that where made somewhat local.  Added 5 sets to each wheel.  Tractor is short 200lbs per wheel now.  Hoping 3pt hitch & snowblower will make up the lost of weight.  It looks over kill for a 766 I know.  Need weight to Plow snow in the winter.  Days of field work are over this old girl.  Thanks to Brian for help on mounting weight info.

Put some 766 decals onto a 1066.  Brought the blade damaged at toy auction.  Only thing that was savaged was the blade.  Cut up piece of aluminum & job welded to blade.  Made up some frame work.  It’s pretty crude looking,  but for me best I’m going be able to do.

Been quite awhile since did much to the 766.  Too many projects & not enough effort on my part.  The left rear tire was very close to brand new.  It’s a bkt & other side was an used titan.  That didn’t bother me,  but what did was the tractor didn’t sit level.  Been searching for used tire in either brand & found nothing in the last year. So decide to just get another new bkt to match.  Old on trailer,  new leaning against tractor.

The BS 1066 engine won’t turn.

Not sure if need that amount of weight,   but took out more volume of calcium in weight.  When taking of the worn titan tire,  sure easier to man handle off the tractor & onto small trailer I have.
