Green Mountain Iowa Tractor Ride

Recommended Posts

Saturday was a fun day. Went on the local tractor ride. NEPOWESHEICKCOFARMALLS came up and joined the party. We decided to ride 756's. His looks pretty good considering last winter he laid it on its side. I drove the one that's considered the wife's, her dad bought it new. That ones pretty special at our house. 37 tractors total, including my relatives we had 6 tractors there, 5 red ones and one 8N Ford. Wife's grandpa bought it new. It's got the underdrive, direct, and overdrive transmission. Kinda fun to drive. Here's some pictures of our tour of northeast Marshall county Iowa. Sprinkles were on the horizon and when we got close to my house we turned towards home. And the last half dozen miles or so, we turned the horses loose 👍. Hopefully SHEICK will add some pictures to. We looked at his best (back)🙊 side most of the day. His camera was getting plenty of use as well. Enjoy the pictures, hopefully they tell a little about what we got to see.

Looks like you guys had a great time. How would one go about joining this ride in the future? Who knows, might even have a red one to ride in the future. I'd take the 10 but no way to haul it.

Wow, that really looks like a fun day!  Why a UTV to pull the porta potty when there are plenty of John Deere's  around....?

Looks like a great time. OK backhoes are a notorious bad ride did the person with the little Deere hoe wear out his seat from bouncing or did you guys keep it to smooth roads.:-)

How do they decided who runs the UTV hauling the dumper?????  On those gravel roads their might be a bit of blue splash that could be a nice air freshener????

It was and thanks. More pictures coming. The day started with individual pictures, when we get the camera card back from the person that went and had them printed I'll post them to.

Oh yeah lots of fun. If you wanna go next year? Send me your name and address, I'll get you on the mailing list. Wanna bring the 10? Knock the duals off and I'll come get it. I've hauled other guys red ones before, just ask SHEIK.

We definitely had fun, more than expected actually. And good question, don't know how they decide who pulls it. Last year dad in law pulled it with a SMTA his dad bought new.

Not sure why he showed up with that. He always borrows one from the same friend. I've seen him on a 756 and a 4440

Dad in law normally does it and as stated above did it with a tractor last year. This year he chose his new Ranger. Then last minute he switched with his grandson. Knowing the grandson he probably wanted to put some miles on that new Ranger.

Thanks for the offer on the 10 Waylon. If all goes well I may have something else Red to drive by then. Just have to convince the current owner I need it more than he does!

Some don't make it. Matter of fact our lead tractor bowed out after lunch. Battery was so dead you couldn't even pull start it. We've also been going to the Dyersville, Iowa ride, I think we've missed one in ten years. Somebody generally has tire issues of some kind. And one time I took my Navy tractor. A chunk came loose in the gas tank and settled over the top of the sediment bowl and it quit running. Half full or better but it wouldn't run so we towed it back the last 5 miles. So it happens.

Your welcome, and it's a standing offer. And I understand, I've got a tractor like that on my brain to. I haven't said anything to the owner cause I know he's not ready to sell.

Nice to see the whole ride wasn't on the highway. I like the gravel myself, dust isn't so nice, but I will take that over traffic. Great pics!

I'm guessing 75% was gravel and I'm like you, I like it that way. If it's dusty we just spread out a little. And a shower will cure the dust at the end of the day. No complaints from me that's for sure. Didn't hear any other complaints from anyone else that I heard.

Thanks for the compliment on the pictures. And as stated, their will be more coming when we get that camera card back. Stay tuned.

The current owner of this one offered it to me a while back, probably more than once. After deciding I "need" a 656 this year and not being able to find one I like close, Thought I should inquire about this one. Frustrating part is he shot me a price, (that I didn't flinch at) than said he wasn't sure if he wanted to sell or not. I have some toy money saved, and this would be a great (usable) toy. If I get it bought you will see pictures right here on Red Power! And of course you would be welcome to come see it in person if you were so inclined.

He ran with the cab door open the ENTIRE ride, I could just see that glass crumble to the ground as it shattered.......😖  But, he made it back without incident !

it just me, or do I make the 756 look small?  😁

I jokingly made reference to something of that nature but it was all in fun obviously. Aaron asked how much longer till lunch? I said, what's wrong, not enough reserve? We both laughed and kept moving. I have plenty of reserve myself so it was all good.
