It doesn't look very profitable harvesting the tops of the plants.  The 36" stems must be worthless.

I know rope is made of hemp and I am sure other things.

But is this the next craze of Jerusalem Artichokes?

Some day the federal laws restrictions hemp/pot will go away. Then everyone will grow it(it's easy to grow ) and all the profits  will vanish. It's a shell game now. Thx-Ace

The reason just the top is harvested is for the seed. Guys up here say either you grow hemp for the seed or the straw(fiber). So no need in putting all that material through the combine just to get the seed. Although it looks like they got some sort of straw harvester attached there. Never seen that before

That is innovation .Stripper head on top for seed and get rid of the stalks on the bottom . Looked like a walker model.

Looks to me like the seeds are going in the grain tank, the leaves are going through the walkers and into the wagon, and the stalks end up in a windrow.  Three crops in one?
