My transtar

Recommended Posts

Bought this 79 transtar for 2500, 855 Cummins seems to run good. Wouldn’t  go down the road without the power divider in so hopefully not a big issue? Plan to put my 20ft box off the old cabover. Would of liked to had a newer truck, but this one came up,

The old 4300's are one of my favorites

Same here. Guy had one in the small town I lived in as a kid. It was love at first sight. Cool trucks. Hope the rear end issues aren't bad.

Used some comet to shine it up, actually worked pretty good, had some mice in the heater so will have to take it apart. Fires right up so feel pretty good about it , shows 6400 engine hours and 330 or 380 on the mileage. Probably a million 3 🙄. Thinking gauges aren’t right but they do work so who nows.

That truck does not have one on it from looking at the picture.  There would be another section on top of each  rocker box with a wire going to it.  It can have one.  I can’t remember which model that one would take right off the top of my head.

Some guys would wire a jake switch on the shifter but this doesnt appear to be the case. It could still have a jake but just missing the switch.
