Tonyinca
Back on late January decided to trace down this loud tick in engine . sounded like a really bad lifter. ran the valves , checked all injectors still ticking , pulled head and #4 sleeve was dancing up and down. So decided to do an in frame , rolled in new bearings etc , all new hoses , water pump , new radiator, old was pretty rough , new wire harness , alternator , dash cluster replaced . Removed 15.5 x38 and replaced new rims and new 18.4x38 was worried if we could maintain 30 inch rows but after moving in fenders and reverse wheel as it was and rim on second rib it made it. I removed to old generic weights and will replace with IH split rear weights . Clutch was holding good but could not adjust any feather into it , it was either on or off. So guess what A split ! Flywheel was pretty well used up along with pressure plate, so flywheel ring gear and clutch replaced . Mechanically I cannot think of anything else. Oh , Devon furnished a rebuilt seat suspension and new seat . Hopefully all I have left is front weight bracket and four weights and we painted the white side panels and Jeff furnished the emblems . And a good wax on existing red and I should be set to either cut beans or parade this thing. BTW , back view ,no three point arms or hitch , They are in shed . Black eye bean plant loves to grab anything and tangle , so anything that would catch was taken off. I am going to cheat and put my old man K&M steps on ,but no way they would stay on there if going to field. If God willing and creek don't rise it's in the plan to take it to South Dakota RPRU in 2020 . Howard mentioned, he wanted something unique to California , Bean cutter and yellow IH three wire baler is all I have . Doubt I'll take the baler ,wont be finished. The rest of my toys are just versions of what you Guys have . Tony

ZG6E
Very cool! After RPRU in Huron you can just stay for another couple months and do some custom hire for me cutting beans to try it out! The pay is bad and the company is even worse but I know you're anxious to get her in the field! 1

On a Perkins once we had block bored sleeve installed then bored for original sleeves to fit inside. You live and learn every day.

Tonyinca
We think we have the tick cured , went with two thousands over sleeve pushed them in at above max stated pressure . Honed selves out to accommodate Pistons comfortably . Ran her six hours seems to be running perfect , but we develop a leak from tranny input seals so we had to split it again and replaced input shafts bearings and seal engine rear seal was replaced with clutch so all should be good and I'll have my girl done so I can to do a few fun Tonyisms to her . tony

Tonyinca
The old girl is home running like a champ No unwanted noises or leaks ! Lol spent most of day replacing sheet metal and adding few pieces had all the white panels painted , all new emblems , added four front weights and tow hooks. Still need to wrap filters, Add dealer decals, add rear wheel weights and give her a hard all elbows in wax job on hoods and fenders. she ended up with inframe overhaul , new sleeves, pistons, rod and main bearings , new radiator , rebuilt water pump , ejector pump and injectors gone through, new wireing , all new hoses and belts, new cluster gauges and tack, rebuilt seat frame and new seat , new steering wheel, new tires and rear rims, new clutch , pressure plate , engine seal and tranny input shaft and bearings and seals . Load seal replaced , all new fluids , The T.A. WAS and IS working strong , So I chanced not going there . We'll see if I misjudged , I am hoping that I caught a break there ! Hy tran , 30 wt #1 IH Deisel oil. I have basically bought the tractor new again , all it needs is a fresh paint job but I think with the bean cutter on ,it looks more authentic in its spruced up work clothes. Same as my reverse loader 350 , I think in its cleaned up work clothes it tells the story better .inho pics tony
Tonyinca
Second guessing myself ! The more I look at the front , the more I think I need to remove the spacers with tow hooks and place weight bracket to bolster like normal and finish with full rack of weights. I have spacers and tow hooks on all my others and I think they look very balanced but here I think not , could be because of single front ? what are you Guy’s thoughts ? Am I overthinking it ? I went with four because there is already considerable weight in front , However , when cutting in hard ground , they would hang however many needed weights . tony
SMOKER 1
Tony - Just my 2 cents but I would do one of 2 things. Either take the weights and bracket off completely or find a set of weights that have the same patina as the tractor. That fresh paint really stands out on the nice original fade. jerry 1

Tonyinca
Jerry & Nate , I believe you guys are right . Those 75lbs'ers are hard to find and they looked pretty bad , so, I decided to have weights done like my others , BUUUT , I can see that I may not be able to pull that off here. May be, I pull them off and put them on a stand outside and get some aging and fade on them .lol. I'll play with it and see what I can do to get a better blend. If I had any talent ,I would paint them with a patina look , However , I doubt David and I could accomplish it. Tony
