fordfx413 2
Installing a new head gasket on a 407T. Anything special i need to do to the head gasket or clean and dry? First time on a 407 and want to make sure i get it right. Also is there a updated head torque or sequence or just follow the IT manual? Will the head need to be re torqued after a warm up and cool down? Thank you
Nebraska1206 178
Giving the head gasket a few coats of aluminum spray paint will aid it in sealing. Best to have everything clean and ready to go back together, paint the head gasket and set it on the block, then the head on the block, while the paint it slightly tacky. A retorque of the head bolts and recheck of valve lash is a good idea after a warmup & cooldown cycle.
