Gonna have to keep my eyes open when combining the beans, sure looks like the pot of gold is on my side of the fence🤞

Sure dont want to run it into the bean head.😁

Thanks for brining it back to the top Dale, saves me from going looking for it lol. I was out tonight and took a few pictures. Didn’t take any of the canola as I was checking  for armyworms and didn’t have my phone with me.

Barley is getting very close now. Potentially end of next week if the weather cooperates. It’s coming on quick anyways. If it heats up outside it won’t take long. Wheat is a couple weeks away yet for sure. Maybe 3 depending on the weather. Canola is probably 2-3 weeks away from swathing yet.

Still working on equipment yet so harvest can’t happen for a little bit yet lol. Got the old weather basically done. Have the new one at the shop going over it now and checking everything. I don’t think the 2188 needs much bit I have a few things to do to the Massey yet. Hopefully make a good hole in it tomorrow.

Forst pic is the barley, second and 3rd is the Brandon wheat, 4th is some sort of different variety coming in the wheat. Maybe it is Brandon wheat too, I’m not sure. The heads are huge on them though. Close to 6 inches long.

Took off at 8:00 the other night on my quad after work and went for a little ride. Hadn’t been up to the river yet this summer since the snow has gone. Days are definitely getting shorter now, 8:45 is sunset now or even a little bit earlier. I got home about 10:00 and it was pitch black out anyways. Little bit of light from the moon but nothing for daylight anymore.

Was quite the ride for wildlife and I swear they were all out to get me lol  one coyote pup almost got under me at about 50 mph and two spruce grouse flew up right infront of me on the bush trails  the one I thought I was going to hit for sure l, I put my hand out to swat it away but it managed to swerve and miss me just barely

Same here some early wheat combined but harvest will start in earnest next week. Another neighbor had 2,row malt barley he combined before rain on Sunday night and yesterday. Early crop is okay but later stuff is better.

we'll be awhile yet spray the peas tomorrow then that's atleast 5-6 days away from trying combining, so just tinkering away, cleaning bins, final check overs etc even then i'm usually never ready ready always something I miss

some heat would almost be nice to bring things quicker, I think swathing canola and combining peas are gonna happen at the same time again

We haven’t had much rain in the past month or so, so really not sure how this is possible.  New fields I rented this year that’s sandy soil, planted June 13th (yikes that’s late!!), so was vey skeptical at getting much of a crop off it.  If the kernels fill out on the cobs as good as the stalks have grown, I’ll be smiling come November!  Now that we have had a little rain the beans are starting to look healthier too thankfully!

I’m 6’ tall and it’s still growing!!!
