Had them in the control box of my round baler last summer. Couldn't figure out why it wouldn't finish cutting the twine!

The average we shot for was 120 lbs. Remember it had three wires around it and was tight not mushy. Guys in those days had a way of handling them , we used loaders along side bob tail trucks out of field and used boom trucks to stack on sets of doubles for transport or for winter stacks at ranch. Soon the bale wagon came on the scene , then later the squeeze . As for wire I have a source that still handles it. I have two unopened rolls in my 55 W baler now , the #71 baler will carry six rolls at a time . Remember this baler will be for show only , doing demonstration once or twice for authenticy and doing a bale at a time at a show demonstrations. So , plan is two more new rolls for the 55W and six new rolls for the #71 should take care of the rest my baling career. TSC can get it and there is a reputable Farm store in 30 miles South of me. that told me he keeps some in stock for a few horse customers that only want wire bales. 560Dennis
Are you going to show the baler by it self at antique exhibitions ? Or with a tractor combination hitched ? Just wondering in advance what you thought ?

Also the only two picture I can find in I.H. brochures, has what appears to be a 460 or 560 single wheel front pulling the 71. I believe that picture was taken in Madera County Calif. at the Alvin Gomes farm. Its a small pic lower corner of baler page in the 1962 or 1963 equipment line up. Its getting close to one year since we started . If painting does not hold us up should be done next year this time. You may of misunderstood me I said two years . I knew it would not make CAFES this year if it was not canceled but would be there next year 2021. BTW I have agreed to roll our 2020 show into 2021 with me as Chairman again. TroyDairy
I read on May 2019 you typed one year project..... But then the bean cutter and the Pickup and then... etc etc ?? Perfection takes time right? Will there honestly be a bolt left unhandled? If only it had a counter. Can you imagine how many tons it has through it? Now you know a restored NH or Freeman Harrowbed hooked to the 1206 sure would complete the story. An then may as well get a late 50s IH flatbed and pup to carry the hay. I suppose then put a boom on the white IH flatbed you got. You and Bob could put on quite the show. Baling to pulling away to Petes with a load of hay. I never thought it would be held up by" a Covid 19 ." Its slowing everything down. Harder to order parts, harder to get certain services done because of limited crews, etc , etc You are right these things take time, sometimes it gets frustrating. Bean cutter should of taken a month , turned into 6-7 months Trying to find that ticking , then having to tear into engine twice . Truck just goes forever , Everything we touch has to be redone or re routed. Went to see it today , ran into problems with water pump need to re route water pipes because of other( PS) pumps and tanks taking the room. But it is getting all its fluids filled today ! When done it will need to go to Alinement shop ,then drive the **** out of it to make sure it all works , then to upholstery to re do carpet. In 1963 he bought it new , I ran it till 1974. Hard to imagine how a piece of equipment (Iron) can deteriorate in so little time , thank God our bodies hold up little better. lol. Saying that from the three I have to make one . Tony

twostepn2001
Tony, since you've pretty well decided not to go with LP fuel on the baler, where is the gas tank mounted and how many gallon capacity is it?
